This standard specifies the test equipment, test conditions and test methods for the braking distance of the braking performance of motorcycles and mopeds. This standard applies to the braking distance test of motorcycles and mopeds (except off-road vehicles and racing cars). 2 Referenced standards
GB/T5378 General principles for road tests of motorcycles and mopeds 3 Test equipment
3.1 This test shall use a brake printer and an electronic timing device or a motorcycle speed measuring device. 3.2 The requirements for test equipment shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T5378. 4 Test conditions
4.1 The adhesion coefficient of the test road surface shall not be less than 0.7. 4.2 When the specified speed is 20km/h, the vehicle shall be driven by one person without passengers according to the empty vehicle weight state; when the specified speed is 30km/h, the provisions of GB/T5378 shall be followed when there are no special requirements. The configuration method of passenger, driver weight and loaded weight shall be in accordance with the relevant provisions of GB/T5378. 4.3 When the driver performs front and rear braking, the brake printer shall spray out marks. If the front and rear brake control devices are equipped with brake printers, the longer corresponding braking distance shall be the measurement result. 4.4 During the test, the center line of the brake printer barrel shall be perpendicular to the ground, and the height of the spray gun mouth from the ground shall be 100 to 150mm. 4.5 When using an electronic timing device, three sections shall be divided on the test road (see Figure 1). The auxiliary driving area and the braking distance test area shall be of sufficient length, and electronic timing devices shall be installed at both ends of the initial speed test area. When using a motorcycle speed measuring device, select a sufficiently long braking test section on the test road (see Figure 2). 4.6 The width and markings of the test channel are as follows: Approved by the State Bureau of Technical Supervision on April 10, 1996 and implemented on November 1, 1996

Two-wheeled vehicles are 1m;
Three-wheeled vehicles are 1m plus wheelbase;

The markings should be eye-catching, and the inner spacing of the two side lines is the width of the test channel. 4.7 The other test conditions should comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T5378. 5 Test method

5.1 Vehicles (except for vehicles with automatic gear shift and no gear) undergoing braking distance test shall select the highest gear for braking. If the lowest stable vehicle speed at the highest gear is higher than the specified vehicle speed, the second highest gear may be used. 5.2 The test vehicle must be tested at the following specified speeds: a. The specified speed for a light motorcycle is 20±2 km/h; b. The specified speed for a motorcycle is 30±2 km/h. 5.3 The front wheels of the tested two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles shall run along the center line, and the front wheels of sidecar tricycles shall run along a straight line 0.5m away from the sideline of the test channel (the side wheels are in the channel).
5.4 When the test vehicle reaches the starting line of the braking distance test area (using an electronic timing device) or the vehicle speed reaches the specified initial speed (using a motorcycle speed measuring device), the driver shall immediately close the throttle completely. For vehicles with a controllable clutch, the clutch should be disengaged and the front and rear wheels should be braked simultaneously until the vehicle stops. The distance from the center of the printing point to the vertical foot of the spray gun after the vehicle stops is the measured braking distance. 5.5 Use formula (1) to correct the braking distance value measured in Article 5.4 (1)
Where: s—corrected braking distance, m,
-actual braking distance, m;
-specified initial speed, km/h,
actual initial speed, km/h.
5.6 Use formula (2) to calculate the braking deceleration.
Where: a-—deceleration, m/s2;
-specified initial speed, m/s,
corrected braking distance, m.
GB/T 5382. 11996
(2)
5.7 Carry out two tests on the braking distance at each specified initial speed and record the data in the table of Appendix A (Supplement). Take the minimum value of the arithmetic mean of the corrected braking distance as the braking distance value of the tested motorcycle. The calculated value shall be rounded off to two decimal places. 5.8 The test conducted shall be invalid if the vehicle has any of the following conditions: a. The specified initial speed does not meet the requirements of Article 5.2; Braking is started only 2m beyond the starting line of the braking distance test area; During the braking test, any wheel touches down beyond the edge of the test channel; The deviation rate of the corrected braking distance for each round trip exceeds 20%. 141
