This standard is a test method for determining the length of long and short fibers of ramie fiber after combing. All tests required during production, acceptance and delivery shall be conducted in accordance with this standard.
1 Sampling
The test shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of GB5881--86 "Sampling method for ramie physical and chemical properties test". 2 Test conditions
The test shall be conducted under standard atmospheric conditions. It can also be conducted under non-standard atmospheric conditions, but the test conditions must be stable. The temperature and humidity conditions during the test shall be indicated in the records and reports. 3 Test cycle
Periodic tests can be conducted according to production needs, and each product variety shall be conducted at least once a week. The test cycle during acceptance and delivery shall be agreed upon by both parties.

5 Test method
5.1 Test method for long fiber length
5.1.1 Sample
GB 5887—86
Separate a sample weighing about 1& from the flax strips or flax leaves along the axis, and use tweezers to remove the hard strips and impurities. 5.1.2 Combing
Gently arrange the fibers by hand, then hold one end of the fibers with the thumb and index finger of the left hand, and pull out the exposed end of the fibers with the right hand. After a small bundle (about 0.2g, one sample can be divided into 5 to 6 small bundles) is pulled out, comb and straighten the small bundle of fibers repeatedly without damaging or losing the fibers, until one end of the fibers is neat and straight. 5.1.3 Place in the analyzer
Put the straight fibers arranged in order of length on the top of the lower comb of the length analyzer. The neat end should be aligned with the first comb. When the fibers remain straight, use a pressure fork to gently press the fibers into the lower needle in parallel so that each fiber bundle is arranged on the length meter. Then press the five upper combs into the first five lower combs. When the fiber length exceeds the last comb position of the analyzer, the excess part should be measured with a steel tape measure. The group spacing is still 1cm.
5.1.4 Extracting fibers
After the fibers are arranged, use pliers to extract them from the longest end of the fibers, twist them into small twists (the weight of a small twist cannot exceed the weighing range), and place them on the black velvet board. After each group is extracted, put down a comb until the fibers with a length of 3cm are extracted. Fibers below 3cm are grouped together. When extracting fibers, use small amounts and multiple times to avoid taking out fibers of other length groups. 5.1.5 Weighing
Weigh the fibers of each length group on a precision torsion balance in turn, and record the total weight of each group of fibers in order of length. 5.2 Short Fiber Length Test Method
5.2.1 Sample Preparation-
Take out about 50 mg of the sample from the hemp sample and use tweezers to remove the hemp particles and impurities. 5.2.2 Combing
Gently arrange the sample with both hands, and repeatedly extract the fibers to make one end neat. 5.2.3 Arrangement
Use No. 1 clamp to clamp the longest fiber to the black velvet board with a limiter, and continue to extract in this way until all the fibers are extracted, then use the hand-held hammer to press on the fiber, hold the No. 1 clamp in the right hand, and take down the relatively neat and straight fibers on the black velvet board, and repeat the above method once.
5.2.4 Arrangement
Draw and arrange the arranged samples on the big black velvet board in the order of fiber length, so that one end of the fiber is neat and straight, and evenly arranged from long to short on the bottom line of the big black velvet board, with a bottom line length of 20 to 25 cm. 5.2.5 Grouping
Draw and group according to fiber length, with a group spacing of 1 cm. Press the hammer on the fiber, and take out the group from long to short with tweezers one by one, twist into small twists, and place them on the small black velvet board.
Fibers of 1.5 cm and below are calculated as short fibers. 5.2.6 Weighing
GB 5887-86
Weigh each group of extracted fibers on a precision torsion balance, and record the weight of each group in the order of fiber length. 6 Calculation method
6.1 Average fiber length
The average fiber length is calculated according to formula (1) and
(2):
Egi·li
-average fiber length, cm,
wherein, x
the weight of each group of fibers, mg,
the average fiber length of each group, cm,
X is the assumed group median of fiber length, cms
u--deviation, cm,
I is the distance between a group, cm.
6.2 Standard Deviation Coefficient
The standard deviation coefficient of fiber length is calculated according to formula (3): Egi.u
Wherein: cv-
-Standard Deviation Coefficient of Fiber Length, %,
Standard Deviation of Fiber Length, cm, calculated according to formula (4): a
6.3 Short Fiber (Down) Rate
(3)
(4)
Long fibers are short fibers with a length of 4 cm or less, and short fibers are short down with a length of 1.5 cm or less. The short fiber (down) rate is calculated according to formula (5): W=
Wherein: W--Short Fiber (Down) Rate, %
G--Total Weight of Short Fibers with a length of 4 cm or less (or Total Weight of Short Downs with a length of 1.5 cm or less), mg. 6.4 Rounding of numbers
(5)
The average fiber length and the staple fiber (fluff) rate shall be rounded to the second decimal place. The rounding of numbers shall be carried out in accordance with the numerical rounding rules (supplement) in Appendix C of GB 1.1-81 "General provisions for the preparation of standards for standardization work guidelines". 61
