Management Methods for Pigment Standard Samples
1 Subject Content and Scope of Application
This standard specifies the management methods for pigment standard samples (referred to as standard samples). HG 2242-91
This standard applies to the management of standard samples in national and industry standards for pigments. The management of standard samples in enterprise standards can also be adopted for reference.
2 Definition
Pigment standard sample: a physical standard used to identify certain characteristics of the same variety of pigment products (such as color, tinting power, tinting power, etc.). 3 Selection and provision of standard samples
3.1 Standard samples are selected as the standards for pigment products are formulated and revised. When it is necessary to select standard samples, the Pigment Product and Test Method Sub-Technical Committee shall be responsible for it, and the working group for the formulation and revision of the product standards and other relevant production and use units shall be organized to participate in the selection. The selection of standards shall be carried out according to the procedures agreed in advance. The selected standard sample should be a batch of uniform products produced normally and stably, and all its technical indicators should meet the technical requirements of the pigment product standard.
3.2 The production units participating in the selection of pigment standard samples must keep a sufficient number of uniform products from the same batch when sending samples to ensure that once they are determined as the standard sample provider, they can provide the batch of products that meet the quality and quantity requirements to the standard sample issuing unit in a timely manner. 3.3 The unit determined to provide the standard sample should take samples from the original batch of products, divide them into 4 bottles (dark brown wide-mouth bottles) of 500mL each, and attach the test report, and send them to the secretariat of the Pigment Products and Test Methods Branch for verification. 3.4 After receiving the samples provided by the production units, the secretariat of the Pigment Products and Test Methods Branch should arrange the verification work in time, and the verification period shall not exceed 45 days.
3.5 After the verification is qualified, the remaining samples shall be sealed by the secretariat of the Pigment Products and Test Methods Branch for use as standard samples in arbitration or replacement. The secretariat of the branch shall report the verification results to the secretariat of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Coatings and Materials for record, and issue a qualified notice and verification report to the unit that provides the standard sample.
3.6 After receiving the qualified notice, the unit that provides the standard sample shall send the qualified sample to the unit that issues the standard sample within two months (see 5.3). 3.7 After the sample is verified, if a certain technical indicator does not meet the standard requirements, the secretariat of the Pigment Products and Test Methods Branch shall issue a non-conformity notice and verification report to the unit that provides the standard sample. 3.8 After receiving the non-conformity notice, the sample supply unit shall re-sample within one month until all technical indicators meet the standard requirements. 3,9 When the verification unit verifies and re-tests (or replaces) the standard sample, it shall make detailed original records and submit a test report. The test report shall at least include the following contents:
Sample name and product standard number,
Manufacturing unit;
Manufacturing date, batch number,
Validity period;
Verification or re-test results and conclusions;
Test personnel,
Approved by the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the People's Republic of China on November 12, 1991 and implemented on July 1, 1992
Test date.
4 Replacement of standard sample

4.1 If the issuing unit of the standard sample encounters one of the following three situations: a. The standard sample is deteriorating;
b. The standard sample is about to reach its validity period;
c. The standard sample is about to run out.
Then the standard sample should be replaced again, and the original standard sample provider should be notified in time to provide a new standard sample (see 3.3). 4.2 The new replaced standard sample should be re-tested by the secretariat of the Pigment Products and Test Methods Branch (the requirements are the same as 3.4~3.6). The tinting power and tinting power of the new standard sample should be the same as the original standard sample, and the color should be similar to the original standard sample. Other technical indicators should also meet the requirements specified in the product standard. 5 Packaging, marking, distribution and storage of standard samples 5.1 Packaging of standard samples
The standard sample should be stored in a dark brown wide-mouth glass bottle (60~1000mL), sealed, and labeled and sealed. 5.2 Marking of standard samples

5.4.1 Standard samples should be stored in a room with a temperature not higher than 30℃ and not lower than 5℃, a relative humidity not higher than 70%, good ventilation and no direct sunlight.
5.4.2 When using standard samples, the inspectors should prevent the standard samples from deteriorating due to moisture absorption, light and heat. After use, it should be returned to its original place immediately and kept properly.
6 Validity period of standard samples
The validity period of various pigment standards should be implemented in accordance with the provisions of their product standards. 7 The competent authority of the standard samples
