Steel pipe flange, gasket, fastener matching regulations (European system) HG20614-97 1 Subject content and scope of application This standard is the regulations that should be followed when steel pipe flanges, gaskets, fasteners (European system) are used together. This standard applies to steel pipe flanges, gaskets and fasteners specified in HG20592~HG20613. 271 HIG 20592 HG20603 HG20604 HG2060620612 HG20613 2“Reference Standards “Types and Parameters of Steel Pipe Flanges (European System)” & Technical Conditions of Steel Pipe Flanges (European System)” “Temperature and Pressure Levels of Steel Pipe Flanges (European System)” “Gaskets for Steel Pipe Flanges (European System)” “Fasteners for Steel Pipe Flanges (European System)” 3 Pipe Flanges 3.0.1 The flange type shall comply with the provisions of HG20592. 3.0.2 The sealing surface type of the flange shall generally be selected in accordance with the provisions of Appendix A of HC20592. 3.0.3 The nominal pressure and operating temperature range of the flange material shall comply with the provisions of HG20603. 3.0.4 The maximum non-impact working pressure of flanges at different temperatures shall comply with the provisions of HG20604. 3.0.5 The maximum operating temperature of plate-type flat-welded flanges, butt-welded loose-fit flanges and flat-welded loose-fit flanges is 300°C, and they should not be used in strong cyclic operating conditions. The use restrictions of threaded flanges are the same as those of threaded joints in piping projects. 273 4 Gaskets The scope of application of gaskets shall comply with the provisions of HG20606~HG20612. 4.0. 1 4.0.2 The type of gasket shall be selected based on the working temperature, pressure, corrosiveness and toxicity of the medium, flammability, allowable leakage and other factors. Fasteners The scope of application of fasteners shall comply with the provisions of HG20613. 5 0. 1 5..2 At high temperatures, the selection of fasteners shall consider the influence of bolt load and stress relaxation on the sealing performance of the joint. 275 6 Coordination of pipe flanges, gaskets and fasteners 6.0.1 The coordination of ferritic steel pipe flanges, gaskets and fasteners shall be in accordance with the provisions of Table 6.0.1 under the premise of complying with Chapters 3.4 and 5 of this standard. When installing the flange, the torque should be controlled to prevent over-tightening. 6.0.2 Non-metallic flat gaskets such as rubber, asbestos rubber sheet, synthetic fiber rubber pressed sheet, modified or filled polytetrafluoroethylene shall be used for full-face flanges. 6.3 When using non-metallic flat gaskets, polytetrafluoroethylene coated gaskets, mulberry graphite composite gaskets and other soft gaskets, the raised face flange shall not be machined with a waterline: otherwise, the flange sealing surface shall not be machined with a waterline. 6.0.4 When using austenitic stainless steel flanges, the following provisions shall be met. (1) Austenitic stainless steel flanges are used for fastening. It uses materials with similar linear expansion coefficients. (2) Ordinary austenitic stainless steel fasteners that have not been hardened by cold working are only suitable for non-metallic flat gaskets, polytetrafluoroethylene coated gaskets and flexible graphite composite gaskets. (3) When the working temperature is not more than 230℃, ferritic steel (carbon steel or alloy structural steel) fasteners can be used.
