Some standard content:
GB/T17695-1999 This standard specifies 52 public information graphic symbols for use in documents such as maps. In order to ensure coordination and consistency with existing graphic symbols for signs, some graphic symbols in this standard directly quote existing graphic symbols for signs, or are simplified and designed based on existing graphic symbols for signs according to the special needs of documents such as maps. In addition, this standard also supplements some graphic symbols based on the functions of existing documents such as maps. These graphic symbols are all common public information graphic symbols in documents such as maps. This standard shall be implemented from September 1, 1999. Appendix A of this standard is a prompt appendix. This standard is proposed by the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Graphic Symbols. This standard is drafted by the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding, the Institute of Surveying and Mapping Standardization of the State Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation, and the National Tourism Administration. The superscripts around the graphic symbols in Table 1 do not constitute the content of the graphic symbols, but only serve as the basis for the proportional enlargement or reduction of the graphic symbols. 4.2 When using graphic symbols with directionality, the direction of the graphic symbols can be appropriately adjusted according to the actual direction requirements, such as rotation, mirroring, etc. 4.3 Under the premise of keeping the graphic symbols eye-catching, the colors of the graphic symbols and the substrate can be appropriately adjusted according to the layout coordination requirements of the information carrier. Graphic symbols of the same type should use a uniform color on the same information carrier. The color of the symbol and the substrate should maintain a large contrast. 4.4 To highlight the displayed graphic symbols, the background color can be filled with the corner mark as the basis to contrast the graphic symbols. 4.5 When using graphic symbols in maps and other documents, the graphic symbol index should be marked in the form of legends.
