2.1 Compounding ingredient: a substance added to rubber to improve the processing properties of rubber, product performance, or reduce costs. 2.2 Processing aid: a substance that can improve the processing properties of rubber. 2.3 Vulcanizing agent: a substance that can vulcanize (crosslink) rubber. 2.4 Vulcanizing accelerator: a substance that can accelerate the vulcanization rate during the vulcanization process of rubber. 2.5 Vulcanizing activator: a substance that can improve the effectiveness of vulcanization accelerator. 2.B Antiscarching agent; scorch retarder: a substance that can prevent or delay the early vulcanization (scorching) of the rubber during processing and storage before vulcanization. 2.7 Filler
