The powder standard white plate specified in this standard can be used directly for colorimetric and photometric measurements, and can also be used to calibrate working standards. The measurement of colorimetric and photometric values is based on an ideal fully reflective diffuser. It is usually performed by comparing the sample with a standard white plate or a working standard white plate. A standard white plate with known spectral reflectance and tristimulus values should be used for measurement. The standard white plate specified in this standard is pressed from powdered materials such as magnesium oxide or barium sulfate, and its absolute spectral reflectance is guaranteed by the performance of the manufacturing material and the pressing technology. Quantity of light 9087-1988 Page 4 2 Technical requirements 2.1 Magnesium oxide or sulfuric acid powder produced specifically for national physical standards is used as the material for making standard whiteboards. The spectral reflectance of both powders is above 95.0%. The reflectance extreme value difference si inoaec.cot of the same batch of powder materials in the wavelength range of 380-780nm is not more than 3.0%. 2.2 The standard white plate specified in this standard is made of magnesium oxide or barium sulfate powder pressed in a metal sample box to form a circular plate with a thickness of more than 5mm and a diameter of not less than 25mm. 2.3 The surface of the pressed powder standard white plate should be flat, without texture, gloss, and stain. There should be no powder chips falling from the surface of the powder standard plate when it is vertical or inverted. The bulk density of the standard powders pressed with the same batch number should be the same. "White Plate" Colorimetric and Photometric Measurement of Powder Standards 9087-1988 Page 5 3 Preparation of Standard White Plate 3.1 This standard specifies the use of a powder sample press to press the powder standard white plate. The preparation steps are shown in Appendix A. 3.2 Pressed powders must not be reused inoaec.col 3.3 If magnesium oxide or sulfuric acid lock powders are agglomerated, they can be placed in a mortar that does not pollute the powders, ground and then used. 3.4 Since barium sulfate powder is very sticky, if it sticks to glass when pressing whiteboard, it can be dried in an oven at 105-110℃, placed in a desiccator, cooled to room temperature, and ground before use. 3.5 The pressed standard whiteboard should be stored in a desiccator away from light. If there is no pollution or damage, it can be used repeatedly. This standard recommends the use of HY-3 constant pressure powder press (patent number: CN86205498). This press has a simple structure and is easy to operate, and can meet the requirements of pressing powder standard whiteboards. A.1 The structure of the HY-3 type constant pressure powder sample press is shown in Figure 1. (Figure omitted) A.2 The working surface of the glass plate (4) facing the pressed powder is a rough surface (it has been ground with W103031/2 diamond sand with a particle size of less than 5μ and etched with dilute hydrofluoric acid). A.3 Operation steps: A.3.1 Place the rough surface of the clean glass plate (4) on the sample box (1) and press it with the pressure cover (5) to tighten it. Turn it 180° and place it on the table with the mouth facing up; A.3.2 Add the powder sample to be pressed into the sample box, preferably full. Let it fall freely 20 times at about 1cm above the table to allow the powder sample to fill the sample box. A.3.3 Place the pressing block (2) on top of the powder, then screw the sample press nut onto the sample box, rotate it clockwise for 2 to 3 turns, and then rotate the handle (7) clockwise to apply pressure on the sample through the screw. When the pressure reaches a certain value, the handle will slide. When a sound is heard, it means that the pressure is automatically stopped. During the pressing process, the two joints of the handle must not be loose. A.3.4 Rotate the handle counterclockwise for 2 to 3 turns, then rotate counterclockwise to remove the sample press nut (6) and take out the pressing block. Screw the bottom cover (8) onto the sample box to press the powder sample and tighten it. A.3.5 Turn the sample box 180°, press the cover (5) down, and take out the glass plate (4). This completes the pressing of the powder standard white plate.
