This standard specifies the naming method for gas cylinder models for use by relevant departments such as gas cylinder design, manufacturing, use and management. This standard applies to gas cylinders used at normal ambient temperature (-40 to 60°C), with a nominal working pressure of 1.0 to 30MPa (gauge pressure, the same below), a nominal volume of 0.4 to 1000L, and containing permanent gases, liquefied gases or dissolved gases. It also applies to gas cylinders containing adsorbed gases. This standard does not apply to gas cylinders for fire extinguishing, gas cylinders made of non-metallic materials, and bottle-type pressure vessels attached to transportation vehicles and machinery and equipment. This standard specifies the naming method for gas cylinder models for use by relevant departments such as gas cylinder design, manufacturing, use and management. 2 Principles for naming gas cylinder models
2.1 The gas cylinder model consists of the gas cylinder code and gas cylinder specifications, and the modification serial number is added when necessary. 2.2 The method of indicating the model of a gas cylinder is as follows:

2.3 The gas cylinder code consists of two parts in order: the type (indicating the name of the gas cylinder) and the type (indicating the structural shape of the gas cylinder), and each part is represented by a representative uppercase Chinese phonetic letter. The three letters are written continuously without leaving any gaps between the letters. The representative letters of the type and type are selected according to the provisions of Table 1 and Table 2. Gas cylinder types and types not included in the table can be named according to the principles of the model indication method; when the representative letters have been specified, other letters should be used to indicate them, and the same letters shall not be repeated in the same part. 2.4 Provisions for representative letters of gas cylinder types and types 2.4.1 The representative letters of gas cylinder types are shown in Table 1. 2.5 The specifications of gas cylinders consist of the first characteristic number (indicating the nominal diameter of the gas cylinder), the second characteristic number (indicating the nominal volume, liquid filling weight or gas storage capacity of the gas cylinder), and the third characteristic number (indicating the nominal working pressure or limited pressure of the gas cylinder). The characteristic numbers are expressed in Arabic numerals in sequence and separated by short bars. The first characteristic number is written immediately after the gas cylinder code. 2.6 The modification number is used to indicate the design modification of a certain specification of gas cylinder in a series. It refers to the change of the cylinder body material grade and heat treatment method. It is represented by the Roman letters I, II , Ⅲ, IV, etc., are adopted in order of modification, and are written with a space after the third characteristic number.
