Introduction to standards:
This standard refers to the contents of BS 5493-1977 "Code of Practice for Anti-Corrosion Coatings on Steel Structures" and BB 4479-1969 "Code of Practice for the Design of Coated Metal Parts" on the corrosion protection of steel structures with thermal spraying zinc, aluminum and their alloy coatings. This standard specifies the thermal spray coating system for corrosion protection of steel structures under various common corrosive environmental conditions. It is applicable to steel structure designers, users and user representatives as a guide for the selection and application of corrosion protection coatings for steel structures. It is not applicable to special corrosive environments not recommended by this standard.
