Guidelines for the Selection of Special Environmental Conditions Part 2: Polymer Materials" is a national science and technology basic work project "Material Standards for Extreme (Special) Environmental Conditions" and is one of a series of national standards urgently needed for the development and construction of western my country. The western region of my country is located in the harsh environment of plateau, dry heat and dry heat desert, which has a serious impact on the durable and reliable use of various basic equipment, including various mechanical electronics, electrical, communication, instrumentation and transportation equipment. In the past, my country has not conducted much research on the performance of some materials and basic equipment in the above-mentioned special natural environment. The basic research on special conditions, the research on the adaptability of materials and equipment to special conditions, and the formulation of these basic standards, including the determination and classification of conditional limits, simulation test methods, and technical measures to ensure the normal use of materials under extreme conditions, are still blank. There is a lack of systematic collection and research on the data of special materials such as plateau, heat and desert, as well as the impact of special conditions on heavy fire engineering projects. There is a lack of systematic research on the serious hazards caused by supporting infrastructure. If these problems are not solved, it will directly affect the implementation of large engineering projects in my country under special conditions. With the rapid development of the western region, more engineering projects will be built in the western region in the future. In order to improve the environmental adaptability and reliability and durability of basic equipment, materials, components and equipment should be evaluated and assessed through corresponding environmental tests.
The "Material Standards for Extreme (Special) Environmental Conditions" project mainly formulates basic national standards through research on special environmental conditions in the plateau, major engineering basic materials, and electromechanical products. The content involves the standard system of plateau electromechanical equipment, special environmental terms, classification of special environmental conditions, general rules for protection types, guidelines for artificial simulation tests at commercial altitudes, gold-bottom materials, commercial grade materials, major electromechanical equipment, and plateau adaptability requirements for engineering machinery and equipment.
