Some standard content:

GB/T12404—1997
This standard is a revised version of GB12404—90 "Unit Affiliation Code". Since its implementation on May 1, 1991, GB12404—90 has provided a basis for statistical and management departments to process and exchange information. With the continuous deepening of my country's reform and opening up, some unit affiliations in the original standard are no longer applicable, and new affiliations have emerged. In order to apply and meet the use of statistical and management departments at all levels, we have revised GB12404-90. In the revised version of the standard, based on the opinions of relevant units and from the perspective of improving the practicality and operability of the standard, we have adopted a two-digit code, deleted the separately planned cities, and added items such as village committees and residents' committees. This standard was proposed by the State Administration of Technical Supervision. This standard is managed by the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding. This standard was drafted by the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding and the Department of Statistics Design and Management of the National Bureau of Statistics. The main drafters of this standard are: Zhang Ming, Fang Kuan, and Gu Yingjian. 808
