National Standard of the People's Republic of China Electrotechnical terminologySpark plug 1 Subject content and scope of application This standard specifies the special terms for spark plugs used in the electric spark ignition system of internal combustion engines. GB/T 2900.9-94 Replaces GB2900.9--83 This standard is applicable to the formulation of standards, the compilation of technical documents, the writing and translation of professional manuals, teaching materials and books. This standard does not apply to the special terms for spark plugs used in aviation and special internal combustion engines. 2 Product terms 2.1 Spark plugspark plugs Spark plugs are ignition devices for the electric ignition system of internal combustion engines. They form electric sparks by breaking through the spark gap with the help of pulsed high voltage to ignite the fuel-air mixture in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. 2.1.1 (Insulator) Projected nose typespark plug A spark plug whose insulator skirt protrudes beyond the end face of the shell. 2. 1.2 Conical seat type spark plug A spark plug whose shell support surface seat has a cone surface with a cone angle of 63°±1° and matches the 60°-1 cone surface of the spark plug mounting hole of the engine cylinder head, and does not require an external sealing gasket. 2.1.3 Compact type spark plug A spark plug with reduced radial and axial dimensions. 2.1.4 Bantam type spark plug A spark plug with reduced axial dimensions. Suppressed spark plug 2.1.5 A spark plug equipped with an interference suppressor. 2.1.5.1 Resistor spark plug A spark plug with a resistor connected in series inside the insulator. 2.1.5.2 Shielded spark plug A spark plug whose insulator and connection parts are shielded in a metal casing. 2.1.6 Semiconductor spark plug A spark plug whose insulator skirt is made of semiconductor material or covered with semiconductor material. Surface gap spark plug 2.1.7 A spark plug whose insulator skirt between the electrode and the shell discharges on the surface. Copper cored electrode spark plug 2.1.8 A spark plug whose center electrode or center electrode and side electrodes are both copper core. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on May 19, 1994 and implemented on January 1, 1995 3 Spark plug characteristics 3.1 Heat rating GB/T 2900.9-94 An indicator of the ability of a spark plug to not self-ignite due to its own heat under normal conditions. 3.2 Cold fouling rating The ability of a spark plug to withstand contamination by combustion products under normal conditions, and also the rated value of the spark plug's self-cleaning ability. 4 Spark characteristics (Electric) spark (electric) spark A short-term discharge phenomenon with a momentary flash caused by the sudden breakdown of the air or other dielectric material separating the two terminals. 4.2 Spark gap sparkgap A device that can produce spark discharge between its two or more electrodes under specified conditions. The spark gap of a spark plug refers to the gap that produces spark discharge. 4.3 Spark voltage UpsparkvoltageU. The voltage when sparks are generated at both ends of the spark gap. 4.4 Spark current Ispspark current Isp The current flowing between the electrodes of the spark gap. 4.5 Spark duration tispsparkduration ttsp The time during which sparks are generated at both ends of the spark gap. 4.6 Spark energy EspsparkenergyEsp The total energy released by capacitive and inductive discharges between spark gap electrodes. 5 Engine ignition out-of-control phenomenon 5.1 Self-ignition In a controlled ignition engine, any complete or partial abnormal combustion of the fuel-air mixture that is not ignited by the spark plug as the ignition source. Note: When measuring the spark plug calorific value, the ignition is generated by the heat of the spark plug itself. 5.2 Pre-ignition Self-ignition that occurs before the electric ignition point. Note: The electric ignition point refers to the moment when the spark plug has an electric spark before the piston rises to the top dead center, expressed as the best ignition angle of the crankshaft rotation. 5.3 Post-ignition Self-ignition that occurs after the electric ignition point. 6 Abnormal phenomena in spark plug operation 6.1 Overheating The phenomenon of self-ignition caused by the spark plug being unable to withstand the heat load of the engine. 6.2 Oil fouling The phenomenon of excessive deposition of oil and dirt in the spark plug hot chamber and insulator skirt. 6.3 Carbon deposit The phenomenon of excessive deposition of free carbon particles in the spark plug hot chamber and insulator skirt. 6.4 Lead fouling The lead compound formed by the tetraethyl lead anti-knock agent in gasoline during combustion is deposited on the insulator skirt and hot chamber. 6.5 Miss firingwww.bzxz.net GB/T2900.9-94 The phenomenon of the spark plug being unable to produce sparks due to itself or related conditions. 6.6 Gap bridging The phenomenon that the electrode gap is connected by carbon particles or combustion residues and causes a short circuit. 111 Dwarf spark plug Semiconductor spark plug (Electric) spark Resistance spark plug Post-ignition Spark duration Spark current I.
