For the specimens with a nominal diameter greater than 150 cm, the minimum length shall be 20% of the nominal diameter. The value shall be rounded to an integer 2.2. Each group of specimens shall consist of at least three pieces. 2.3 The ends of the specimens shall be cut vertically, and the cut surfaces shall be free of burrs and jagged edges. 2.4 To prevent uneven load distribution along the length of the specimen, if the contact area between the specimen and the loading plate is uneven, it shall be polished or sandblasted without damaging the reinforcing material. The plate surface in contact with the specimen should be flat and smooth. The thickness of the plate should not be less than 6mm to ensure sufficient rigidity. The length of the plate should not be less than the length of the specimen, and the width should not be less than the contact width of the specimen with the loading plate when the specimen reaches the maximum radial deformation plus 15mm. 3.5 Loading form is shown in the figure below: 3.6 Loading speed is 10~20mm/min. 3.7 Deformation measuring instrument should be accurate to 0.25mm Page 6 sinoaec.com Fiber Reinforced Thermosetting Plastic Pipe Parallel Plate External Load Performance Test Method" Material Compilation → 5352-1985 4.1 Prepare the specimen in accordance with 2.3 and 2.4. 4 Test steps 4.2 Check the appearance of the sample according to the provisions of GB1446-832.1. 4.3 Adjust the state of the sample according to the provisions of 3.1 or 3.2. 4.4 Number the qualified samples and measure the sample dimensions. The measurement accuracy is 0.02mm except for the length which is 1mm. 4.4.1 Measure the length of the sample at least in four equal intervals along the circle and take the average value. 4.4.2 Measure the wall thickness and lining thickness at at least eight equal intervals on any end face and take the average values respectively. 4.4.3 Determine the average inner diameter of the sample 4.4.3.1 For the outer diameter control tube, measure the outer diameter in two directions perpendicular to each other at three different cross-sections of the sample and take the average value as the average outer diameter. Then subtract twice the average wall thickness to calculate the average inner diameter of the sample. 4.4.3.2 For the inner diameter control tube, measure the inner diameter in two directions perpendicular to each other on each end face of the sample and take the average value. 4.5 Place the sample at the center of the lower loading plate. 4.6 Install the deformation measuring instrument at a suitable position. Apply the initial load so that the upper loading plate contacts the specimen. Check and adjust the deformation measuring system so that the entire system is in normal working condition. This is the starting point for measuring deformation. 4.7 Load the specimen at the loading speed specified in 3.5. 4.8 Continuous measurement or interval measurement can be used to determine the load-deformation curve. The deformation increment of the interval measurement should not be greater than 5% of the average inner diameter of the specimen. 4.9 Pay attention to the first significant event that occurs, and record the type, location, and corresponding load and deformation of the event in a timely manner. 4.10 The test should be interrupted when one of the following situations occurs: a. The deformation increases but the load does not increase. b. The deformation of the specimen has reached 30% of the average inner diameter or the specified maximum deformation.
