Introduction to standards:

This standard specifies the naming principles, numbering rules and coding methods for national trunk highway bridges. This standard applies to the information processing and exchange of highway bridges by national management departments at all levels; the naming and coding of non-trunk highway bridges should also be used as a reference. The naming and the coding rulesfor highway bridge
1 Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the naming principles, numbering rules and coding methods for national trunk highway bridges. GB11708--89
This standard applies to the information processing and exchange of highway bridges by national management departments at all levels; the naming and coding of non-trunk highway bridges should also be used as a reference.
2 Referenced standards
GB917 Naming, numbering and coding rules for highway routes GB2260 Administrative division code of the People's Republic of China 3 Naming principles for highway bridges
3.1 The naming of highway bridges should be given a standardized full name based on the local river crossing, the location name or the nearby architectural monuments. The full name is generally no longer than six Chinese characters.
3.2 Existing bridges can use the full name of existing bridges, and unnamed bridges should be named. If there are multiple names for the same bridge, only one applicable name should be used. When multiple bridges are built on the same feature, their names should be distinguished. 4 Rules and methods for highway bridge numbering
4.1 All highway bridges on trunk roads should be numbered sequentially along the route they are on, based on the management boundaries of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government. 4.2 Highway bridge numbers consist of an identifier L and four digits; the last three digits of L are encoded in the serial number of the built bridge, and the fourth digit is used as an extension digit, which is always filled with "0" before expansion. When a new number needs to be inserted, the extension digits should first use even numbers and then odd numbers. 4.3 The numbering of bridges on repeated sections of two trunk roads should be based on the route with a higher administrative level or a smaller number at the same level, and its bridge serial number should be included; the bridges on the repeated section will no longer be numbered on the other route. 4.4 When a road has independent or separate up and down sections, the bridges on the section shall be numbered in a cross-order according to the direction of the route, first right-hand and then left-hand, that is, odd numbers are used for right-hand sections and even numbers are used for left-hand sections, until the sections are combined into one road and the numbering continues in sequence. 4.5 When two or more bridges are built at the same location on the same route due to route widening or other reasons, they shall still be numbered in a cross-order according to the direction of the route, first right-hand and then left-hand; odd numbers are used for right-hand bridges and even numbers are used for left-hand bridges. 4.6 When a bridge crosses two provinces, the province with the first direction of the route shall be numbered, and the province with the later direction shall no longer be numbered. When a bridge crosses two countries, it shall still be regarded as a Chinese bridge and numbered by the province where it is located. 5 Highway Bridge Code
5.1 When highway bridge information is exchanged and shared nationwide, the code structure specified in this clause shall be adopted. 5.2 Highway bridges are composed of four-digit highway route numbers, five-digit highway bridge numbers and two-digit Chinese provincial administrative division codes, forming an 11-digit code. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on October 17, 1989 and implemented on June 1, 1990
GB11708-89
. Each part adopts the provisions of GB917, this standard and GB2260 respectively. 5.3 Code structure:wwW.bzxz.Net

6 Management and use of bridge numbers and their codesL××××
Chinese provincial administrative division code
Highway bridge numbers
Highway route numbers
6.1 This standard only specifies the numbering rules and coding structure of highway bridges. The specific numbers and codes shall be compiled by the relevant highway authorities in accordance with the rules. 6.2 The numbering of trunk highway bridges shall comply with the relevant national confidentiality and other management and information transmission regulations. Bridge numbers that are not compiled according to the numbering (coding) rules of this standard and have not been approved by the highway authority should not be used for information exchange. 6.3 Highway bridge numbers and their coding structure should be relatively stable after compilation. Bridges on newly built highways are numbered in the order of the route and combined with the new road number. When the route is extended, the number of new bridges on an existing highway will be continued in sequence after the number of the bridges on the route; when a new bridge is built between bridges with existing numbers, its number should use extended digits. For example: National Highway Bridge Number
Shanxi Province
Bridge No. 0180
National Highway No. 109
If a new bridge is built between Bridges No. 0180 and No. 0190, its bridge number should be 0182. 6.4 When using highway bridge codes, their administrative division codes can also be extended according to GB2260 as needed; that is, the last two digits of the highway bridge code structure can be extended to four to six digits to reflect the location or jurisdiction of the bridge. The requirements for extended use should be specified separately within a specific scope.
6.5 When a highway bridge is a dual-use bridge for road and railway, the first letter "L\" of its bridge number shall be replaced by the letter "J", and the original number shall remain unchanged. The relevant national departments shall adopt the provisions of this standard for identification. The specific identification method of railway bridge numbers shall be separately stipulated by the competent department of the Ministry of Railways. Additional remarks:
