GB/T20546--2006/IS0100441995 Introduction
This standard introduces the documentary credit format. The letter of credit format is designed to meet the needs of institutions and commercial entities engaged in international banking business to open letters of credit and conduct business.
The use of the standard format of documentary credit has the following outstanding advantages: a) Similar layout of documentary credit will help the beneficiary submit the text in accordance with the terms of the letter of credit: documentary credits of different formats can arrange the same content in the same position or area; different documentary credit formats meet their usage requirements well; and the documentary credit format has enough blank space to facilitate the addition of the goods description and/or service description, the specified document list and special terms and conditions required in most cases. The use of the standard format of documentary credit will help standardize and simplify the order of international limited credits1 Scope
