Some standard content:

GB/T6565—1999
This standard is the first revision of the national standard GB/T6565-1986 "Occupational Classification and Code". With the development of my country's national economy, the progress of science and technology and the adjustment of industrial structure, my country's occupational composition has also undergone major changes, and emerging occupations have continued to emerge. This standard has adjusted some of the classification systems in the original standard that are no longer suitable for the current social occupations, and added emerging occupational categories and names. This standard was revised with reference to the International Labor Organization's ISCO: 1988 "International Standard Classification of Occupations". This standard replaces GB/T6565-1986 from the date of implementation. This standard is jointly proposed by the State Administration of Quality and Technical Supervision, the Ministry of Personnel of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the People's Republic of China and the National Bureau of Statistics.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding. Drafting units of this standard: China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding; Department of Civil Service Management, Department of Professional and Technical Personnel Management, and Personnel Information Center of the Ministry of Personnel; China Employment Training Technical Guidance Center and Information Center of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security; Department of Population and Social Science and Technology Statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics.
The main drafters of this standard are Zhang Ai, Zhao Yanhua, Zhang Ming, Song Jian, Yuan Fang, Zhao Qinghan, Meng Qingpu, Dai Bei, Liu Xiaosha, Wei Zhuo and Ding Yaxian. 394

This standard is applicable to various censuses, surveys and statistics, administrative management and domestic and international information exchanges based on occupational classification. 2 Definitions
This standard adopts the following definitions.
Occupationoccupation
The category of social work performed by employees to obtain their main source of livelihood. 3 Principles of occupational classification
Occupational classification is based on the same nature of the work done by the employed population. 4 Structure and code of occupational classification
4.1 The national occupational classification is divided into three levels: major, medium and minor categories. There are 8 major categories, 65 medium categories and 410 minor categories. The order and names of the 8 major categories are as follows: First major category: heads of state organs, party and mass organizations, enterprises and institutions Second major category: professional and technical personnel
Third major category: office staff and related personnel Fourth major category: commercial and service personnel
Fifth major category: production personnel in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery and water conservancy Sixth major category: production and transportation equipment operators and related personnel Seventh major category: soldiers
Eighth major category: other practitioners who are inconvenient to classify 4.2 This occupational classification adopts three-digit codes. Except for the seventh and eighth major categories, which are represented by letters, the others are represented by numbers. The first digit represents the major category; the second digit represents the medium category; the third digit represents the minor category. The major and medium categories are separated by a dash “_” to distinguish them. The first major category is represented by 0; the second major category is represented by 1/2, occupying the two numbers 1 and 2; the sixth major category is represented by 6/7/8/9, occupying the four numbers 6, 7, 8, and 9; the seventh major category is represented by the letter X; the eighth major category is represented by the letter Y; the remaining major categories each occupy one number. 5 Several points on the use of this occupational classification
5.1 For persons engaged in more than one occupation at the same time, the occupation is the one with the longer working time; if the length of time cannot be determined, the occupation is the one with more economic income. In the same workplace, persons engaged in more than one occupation shall regard their more technical work as their occupation. 5.2 Apprentices should be divided according to the types of work they learn and perform. Approved by the State Administration of Quality and Technical Supervision on March 18, 1999 and implemented on July 1, 1999
GB/T 6565—1999
5.3 Personnel with various professional and technical positions who also serve as administrative persons in charge shall be classified according to their administrative positions. 5.4 For leading cadres who hold both party and administrative positions, they shall be classified according to their main positions. 6 Occupational classification, codes and explanations
