GB4404.3—1999
Foreword
In order to protect agricultural production, safeguard the interests of seed producers, operators and users, avoid losses caused by the use of unqualified seeds in production, and enable the cultivation of fine varieties to obtain high quality and high yield, a unified quality standard must be established for regulation, and this standard is specially formulated. Based on a large number of experimental studies and typical surveys, this standard comprehensively formulates the quality standards of adzuki beans (red beans) and mung beans (i.e., purity, clarity, germination rate, and moisture). At present, there are no hybrids of adzuki beans and mung beans. According to unified regulations, the quality of conventional seeds is not graded, and the purity, clarity, and germination rate are set as the minimum indicators, and the moisture is set as the maximum line. This standard is proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Crop Seeds. The responsible drafting units of this standard are: National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center, Anhui Seed Station, Heilongjiang Seed Administration Bureau, Hebei Seed Station, and Shaanxi Seed Station.
The main drafters of this standard are Zhang Shumin, Liu Huakai, Chang Xiulan, Li Xiujin and Xue Yan. The National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture is entrusted with the interpretation of this standard. 289

The purity index of the variety shall be used as the basis for dividing the seed quality level. If the purity does not meet the original seed index, it shall be downgraded to a good seed. If it does not meet the good seed index, it shall be an unqualified seed.
Set an index for each of purity, germination rate and moisture. If any of them does not meet the index, it shall be an unqualified seed. When comparing the measured values of purity, clarity and germination rate with the specified values in the standard, the allowable error used for comparison with the specified values in GB/T3543.1~~3543.6-1995 shall not be implemented for the time being. 291
