Industry Standard of the People's Republic of China Technical Conditions for Electrophoretic Coating of Bicycles 1 Subject Content and Scope of Application QB/T2183--1995 This standard specifies the terms, categories, technical requirements and test methods for electrophoretic coating of bicycle parts. This standard applies to bicycle parts that use electrophoretic coating as the surface protective layer alone. 2 Reference StandardsWww.bzxZ.net GB149 Pencils QB/T1217 Technical Conditions for Electroplating of Bicycles QB/T1218 Technical Conditions for Bicycle Paints QB/T1514 Needles for Household Sewing Machines 3 Terms 3.1 Coating 3.5 Peeling 3.6 Missing Coating 3.7 Sand Coating is applied evenly to the surface of parts, forming a thin film under certain conditions. The uneven thickness of the coating on the surface of the coated part is a curtain-like flow phenomenon. Cracks of different shapes on the surface of the coating. The surface of the coating is uneven and shrinks into curved ridges. The coating and the substrate lose adhesion and cause separation. The surface of the coated part is not completely covered, and part of the substrate metal is visible. Mechanical particles adhering to the surface of the coating. Electrophoretic coated parts are divided into three categories: Class I parts, Class II parts, and Class III parts. The category of each component is determined by the product standard. 5 Technical requirements 5.1 Appearance 5.1.1 The surface appearance of the coated part should be uniform in color, smooth and flat, and no cracks and obvious flow scars, aggregated sand particles, wrinkles, missing coating and other defects are allowed. 5.2 Adhesion 5.2.1 Impact strength After the impact strength test, the coating shall not have peeling and cracking. 5.2.2 Adhesion Use a standard No. 18 sewing machine needle to scratch the coating surface vertically and horizontally, stick tape on the scratched line and then tear it off. The coating should not peel off. 5.3 Abrasion resistance 5.3.1 Hardness Use a standard drawing pencil with a mark of 3H to scratch the coating surface. There should be no scratches on the coating surface. The thickness of the electrophoretic coating should comply with the requirements of Table 1. 5.3.2 Thickness Approved by China Light Industry Association on December 5, 1995 Implemented on July 1, 1996 Thickness of electrophoretic coating 5.4 Corrosion resistance Class I parts QB/T 2183—1995 Class II parts T KAONi KAca- Class III parts Immerse the test piece in the standard test solution. After the time and temperature specified in Table 2, the coating shall not peel off or change color. Table 2 Etching time/min Etching temperature/℃ 6 Test method 6.1 Appearance 6.1.1 Visual inspection under natural light. Class I Parts 6.1.2 The test position should be the front view, main surface and use surface of the test piece. 6.2 Bonding Strength 6.2.1 Impact Strength 6.2.1.1 Test Equipment Class II Parts a. A steel ball with a diameter of $12.7mm, a hardness of HRC62~66 and a clean surface. b. A seamless metal pipe with an inner diameter of $18+5mm and a length of 1500mm. 6.2.1.2 Wipe the surface of the test piece with a dry cloth and place it on the workbench for testing. 6.2.1.3 The impact position shall be specified according to the characteristics and use requirements of the parts. 60 Type III Parts 6.2.1.4 Let the test steel ball fall freely from the inner hole of a metal straight tube placed vertically on the test surface (the verticality tolerance of the metal tube to the horizontal plane is 2.5mm when 1500mm), and impact the test surface. Each test piece shall be impacted once at the specified position, and then visually inspected. 6.2.2 Adhesion Clean the surface of the test piece and use a standard No. 18 sewing machine needle to first scratch 5 streaks with a length of (15~20)mm and a spacing of 1mm in one direction, and then scratch 5 more streaks in a perpendicular direction to penetrate the coating until the base metal, and stick the tape on the score line, then tear it off to check the scratched surface. 6.3 Abrasion resistance 6.3.1 Hardness 6.3.1.1 Test equipment a. Pencil Standard 3H drawing pencil. b. Pencil The pencil cutting length is required to be 21mm, of which the cylindrical part of the pencil core is (5~6)mm, and the edge of the pencil core cross section is required to be free of breakage or notch. 6.3.1.2 The test position is specified according to the characteristics and use requirements of the parts. 6.3.1.3 Operation method The pencil and the test piece are at a 45° angle (as shown in Figure 1), and uniform pressure is applied. The length of the test part is 6.5mm, and the result is visually observed after gently wiping with a towel. 740 QB/T2183-1995 Direction of pencil movement 6.3.2 Thickness 6.3.2.1 The test surface of the test piece is wiped clean with a clean cloth, and measured with various magnetic thickness gauges according to the operation methods specified by the instrument. 6.3.2.2 The test position should be the front view, main surface, and use surface of the test piece. 6.4 Anti-corrosion capability 6.4.1 Test solution requirements 6.4.1.1 Solution concentration: 50g/L sodium chloride solution. 6.4.2 Wipe off the oil and impurities on the surface of the test piece, immerse it in the prepared test solution, immerse it at a temperature of (80±2)℃ for the specified time, rinse it with clean water, wipe it dry with a towel, and visually inspect it after 30 minutes. 6.4.3 The corrosion-free parts are specified according to the characteristics and use requirements of the parts (the edges of the test pieces and the 2mm around the pores are not included in the assessment).
