This standard specifies the binding quality requirements and inspection methods for saddle stitched books and periodicals, and can also be used as a reference for other saddle stitched printing products.
Some standard content:
CY/T29-1999 CY/T7.2~-7.9-1991 "Quality Requirements and Inspection Methods for Post-press Processing" series of standards were compiled in accordance with the requirements of the "Printing Industry Standard System Table" and were issued in July 1991 and implemented on October 1, 1991. In the past few years, due to the changes in printing technology, equipment, raw and auxiliary materials and inspection methods, the content of the standards has not been adapted to the needs of current production. In addition, for the convenience of use, the structure of the above standards has been adjusted and revised as follows: the relevant contents of CY/T7.9--1991 "Quality Requirements and Inspection Methods for Cutting", CY/T7.7--1991 "Quality Requirements and Inspection Methods for Laminating", and CY/T7.8--1991 "Quality Requirements and Inspection Methods for Foil Hot Stamping" were merged, and the relevant contents of CY/T22-1995 "Quality Grading and Inspection Methods for Saddle Stitched Books and Periodicals" were absorbed to revise it into "Quality Requirements and Inspection Methods for Binding--Saddle Stitching". When the contents of other standards are inconsistent with this standard, this standard shall prevail. Appendix A of this standard is a reminder appendix. This standard is proposed and managed by the National Printing Standardization Technical Committee. The drafting unit of this standard: China Printing Corporation. The main drafters of this standard: Kong Qi, Wang Huaizhu, Wei Ruiling. 448 1 Scope People's Republic of China Press and Publication Industry Standard Binding Quality Requirements and Inspection MethodswwW.bzxz.Net Saddle Stitching CY/T 29—1999 This standard specifies the binding quality requirements and inspection methods for saddle-stitched books and periodicals, and other saddle-stitched printing products can also be used as a reference. 2 Referenced Standards The provisions contained in the following standards constitute the provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. When this standard is published, the versions shown are valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest versions of the following standards. GB/T9851-1990 Printing Technology Terminology GB/T788—1990 Book and Magazine Format and Dimensions 3 Quality Requirements This chapter and other chapters of this standard adopt the definitions of GB/T9851. 3.1 Specifications of iron wire used Depending on the quality and thickness of the paper, the diameter of the iron wire is 0.5mm~~0.6mm. 3.2 Book pages and signatures 3.2.1 Signatures that are folded three times or more should be cut to remove air. 3.2.2 Paper below 50g/m2 can be folded four times at most; paper between 60g/m2 and 80g/m2 can be folded three times at most; paper above 81g/m2 can be folded two times at most. 3.2.3 Signatures should be flat and neat, without obvious wrinkles, dead folds, folded corners, torn pages, overlapping signatures and dirty marks. 3.2.4 The page number and layout sequence of the book are correct. The center point of the page number is the standard. The allowable error of the page number position between two consecutive pages is ≤4.0mm, the allowable error of the page number position of the whole book is ≤7.0mm, and the allowable error of the picture joint is ≤1.5mm. 3.3 Binding quality 3.3.1 The matching (or storage) of the book should be correct and neat. 3.3.2 The binding position is 1/4 of the upper and lower length of the book core from the nail saw. The allowable error is ±3.0mm. 3.3.3 After binding, there are no broken nails, missing nails or hanging nails in the book. The book is flat, neat and clean. The nail feet are flat and firm. The nail saws are nailed on the fold line. The book is skewed ≤2.0mm. 3.3.4 The whole book is neat and the finished product size should comply with the provisions of GB/T788. Non-standard sizes are subject to contract requirements. 3.4 Finished product quality 3.4.1 The skew error of the finished product cutting is ≤1.5mm. 3.4.2 The finished product shall have no serious cuts, no continuous cut pages, and no serious broken ends after cutting. 3.4.3 The finished product shall have a neat appearance and no indentation. Approved by the Press and Publication Administration of the People's Republic of China on May 7, 1999 and implemented on September 1, 1999 4 Inspection methods 4.1 Measurement method CY/T29-1999 According to the requirements of relevant standards, use measuring tools that meet national regulations to check the dimensions of the corresponding parts. Visual inspection method According to the requirements of relevant standards, use visual inspection to check the dimensions of the book format and nail positions. 5 Packaging, transportation, storage 5.1 Packaging Package according to the number of packages required by the customer, and use special packaging materials to pack tightly and firmly, and each package should be marked. 5.2 Transportation During transportation, it is not allowed to drop the package from a high place. It is not allowed to hit or step on it. Pay attention to rain, moisture, sun, corrosion, and avoid heavy pressure. 5.3 Storage The storage environment should be of suitable temperature and humidity. Pay attention to moisture, sun, oil, frog, corrosion, and avoid heavy pressure. 450 Single machine process flow CY/T 29—1999 Appendix A (Suggestive appendix) Saddle stitching process flow Folding→matching→binding→numbering→pressing or bundling→cutting products→counting—packing→labeling.
