This standard applies to the mining, beneficiation, smelting of rare earth ores and the application of rare earth products. 2 Reference standards GB5748 Determination of dust in workplace air 3 Terminology GB16240--1996 Rare earth dust: single and mixed rare earth dust containing rare earth metals and their oxides, including group and group mixed rare earths. 4 Hygiene requirements The maximum allowable concentration of rare earth dust with a free silicon dioxide content of less than 10% in the workplace air is 5mg/m3. 5 Monitoring and inspection methods The determination of dust concentration and free silicon dioxide content in workshop air shall be carried out in accordance with GB5748.
