Packaging—Transport packagesHorizontal impact test methodsGB/T 4857.11-92
Replaces GB 4857.11-86
This standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO2244-1985 Packaging—Horizontal impact test (horizontal or inclined plane test, pendulum test) for complete and fully loaded transport packages. Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the main performance requirements, test procedures and test report contents of the test equipment used in horizontal impact tests (horizontal plane, inclined plane and pendulum tests) on transport packages. This standard is applicable to the assessment of the impact strength of transport packages when subjected to horizontal impact and the protection of the packaging to the contents. It can be used as a single test or as part of a series of tests on packaging. 2 Reference standards
GB/T4857.1 Method for marking various parts of packaging and transport packages GB/T4857.2 Temperature and humidity adjustment treatment of packaging and transport packages GB/T4857.17 General principles for compiling performance test outlines for packaging and transport packages GB/T4857.18 Quantitative data for compiling performance test outlines for packaging and transport packages 3 Test principle
Make the test sample collide with a baffle perpendicular to the same speed direction at a predetermined speed in a predetermined state. Suitable obstacles can also be placed between the baffle surface and the impact surface and edge of the test sample to simulate impact under special circumstances. 4 Test equipment
4.1 Horizontal impact test machine
The horizontal impact test machine consists of steel rails, trolleys and baffles. 4.1.1 Steel rails
Two straight steel rails are fixed in parallel on a horizontal plane. 4.1.2 Trolley
4.1.2.1 There should be a driving device that can control the impact speed of the trolley. 4.1.2.2 There should be a certain friction between the trolley table and the test sample, so that the test sample and the trolley have no relative movement during the movement from rest to before impact. However, during impact, the test sample should be able to move freely relative to the trolley. 4.1.3 Baffle
4.1.3.1 The baffle should be installed at one end of the track, and its surface should form an angle of 90°±1° with the direction of movement of the trolley. 4.1.3.2 The impact surface of the baffle should be flat, and its size should be larger than the size of the impacted part of the test sample. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on February 13, 1992 and implemented on October 1, 1992
GB/T 4857. 11--- 92
4.1.3.3 The impact surface of the baffle should have sufficient hardness and strength. When any 100mm2 area on its surface is subjected to a load of 160kg, the deformation shall not be greater than 0.25mm.
4.1.3.4 When necessary, obstacles can be installed on the baffle to conduct concentrated impact tests on a specific part of the test sample. 4.7.3.5 The baffle structure frame should enable the trolley to continue to move a certain distance under the baffle after the test sample impacts the baffle, so as to ensure that the test sample impacts the baffle before the trolley stops.
4.2 Inclined impact test machine (see Figure 1)
The inclined impact test machine consists of a steel track, a trolley and a baffle. 4.2.1 Steel track
4.2.1.1 Two straight and parallel steel rails, the angle between the track plane and the horizontal plane is 10°±1°. 4.2.1.2 The track surface should be kept clean and smooth, and the scale should be divided at intervals of 50mm along the inclined surface. 4.2.1.3 The track should be equipped with a limit device so that the trolley can stop at any position on the track. 4.2.2 Trolley
4.2.2.1 The rolling device of the trolley should be kept clean and roll well. 4.2.2.2 The trolley should be equipped with an automatic release device and used in conjunction with the traction mechanism so that the trolley can be released freely at any position on the inclined surface. 4.2.2.3 There should be a certain friction between the test sample and the table surface so that there is no relative movement between the test sample and the trolley during the movement from rest to before impact. However, during impact, the test sample should be able to move freely relative to the trolley. 4.2.3 Baffle
4.2.3.1 The baffle should be installed at the lowest end of the track, and its impact surface should form an angle of 90°±1° with the track plane and meet the requirements of 4.1.3.2~4.1.3.5 of this standard.
4.2.3.2 A damper can be installed on the structural frame of the baffle to prevent secondary impact. Test sample

4.3 Pendulum impact test machine (see Figure 2)
The pendulum impact test machine consists of a suspension device and a baffle. 4.3.1 Suspension device
4.3.1.1 The suspension device generally consists of a rectangular table suspended by steel wire ropes at the four corners. 4.3.1.2 The table should have sufficient size and strength to meet the test requirements. 4.3.1.3 When the freely suspended platform is stationary, it shall be in the following position: the height from the upper plane of the platform to the suspension point shall be at least 4000mm; a.
The distance between the leading surface of the platform and the baffle is 50mm; b.
The steel bars or steel wire ropes of the platform shall be perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other; c.
d. The platform shall remain horizontal.
4.3.1.4 The suspension device shall be able to move freely in the direction of movement. 4.3.2 Baffle
GB/T 4857. 11--92
The impact surface of the baffle shall be perpendicular to the horizontal plane and meet the requirements of Articles 4.1.3.2 to 4.1.3.4 of this standard. When the board

5 Test procedure
5.1 Preparation of test samples
Prepare the test samples according to the requirements of GB/T4857.17. 5.2 Numbering of various parts of the test sample
Number the various parts of the test sample according to the provisions of GB4857.1. 5.3 Pretreatment of test samples
According to the provisions of GB/T4857.2, select a condition to pretreat the test sample with temperature and humidity. 5.4 Temperature and humidity conditions during the test
The test should be carried out under the same temperature and humidity conditions as the pretreatment. If the pretreatment conditions cannot be met, the test must be started within 5 minutes after the test sample leaves the pretreatment conditions.
5.5 Selection of test intensity value
Select the test intensity value according to the provisions of GB/T4857.18. 5.6 Test steps
5.6.1 Place the test sample on the trolley (horizontal impact test machine and inclined impact test machine) or the table (pendulum impact test machine) in the predetermined state.
5.6.1.1 When using the inclined or horizontal impact test machine for testing, the impact surface or edge of the test sample should be flush with the front edge of the trolley or extend beyond the front edge of the trolley by no more than 50mm; when using the pendulum impact test machine for testing, when the freely suspended table is in a static state, the impact surface or edge of the test sample just touches the impact surface of the baffle. 5.6.1.2 When the test sample is impacted, the angle between its impact surface and the impact surface of the baffle shall not be greater than 2°5.6.1.3 When the test sample is impacted by an edge, the angle between its impact edge and the impact surface of the baffle shall not be greater than 2°. If the test sample is a parallelepiped, the angle error between one of the two faces constituting the edge and the impact surface of the baffle shall not exceed ±5° or be within ±10% of the predetermined angle (whichever is larger). 5.6.2 When using a horizontal impact tester for testing: the trolley is moved along the rail at a predetermined speed and reaches the required impact speed when it reaches the impact surface of the baffle.
GB/T 4857.11—92
5.6.3 When using an inclined impact tester for testing, the trolley is lifted along the inclined surface of the rail to the corresponding height at which the required impact speed can be obtained, and then released.
5.6.4 When using a pendulum impact tester for testing, the table is pulled open and the position is raised. When the distance between the table and the impact surface of the baffle is pulled open to produce the required impact speed, it is released. 5.6.5 Regardless of the type of testing machine used for testing, the impact speed error shall be within ±5% of the predetermined impact speed. 5.6.6 After the test, check the damage of the packaging and contents according to relevant standards or regulations, and analyze the test results. 6 Test report
