3 Basic types and series composition
3.1 Basic types

The basic types of bed milling machines are divided into three types: cross worktable type (type I), column movable type (type II) and ram movable type (type II), as shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3.

3.1.1 Cross worktable type

The main motion of the machine tool is the rotary motion of the spindle, and the feed motion is the longitudinal motion of the worktable along the saddle guide rail. 4 Application and performance
4.1 Vertical

4.1.1 Bed milling machine, column moving bed milling machine, ram bed milling machine Bed milling machine, column moving bed milling machine, ram bed milling machine are basic series. The machine tool is suitable for single-piece small batch production workshops and heavy machinery repair plants in general machinery manufacturing industry (parts weight 1.2-8t). It can be used for plane, groove, step surface and drilling, boring and other processing. After being equipped with corresponding accessories, it can also mill angle surface, arc surface, etc. The accuracy of the machine tool should meet the requirements of GB/T3932. The machine tool is a V-level precision machine tool specified in JB/T9871-1999.
The machine tool should have the following performance characteristics:
a) It should have a wide range of performance, strong rigidity, convenient operation, and strong versatility; b) Generally, it should have a quick-release tool device and an optional position display device:) It has two types of rotation and non-rotation. Generally, it should have a spindle sleeve. 4.1.2 Universal swivel head bed milling machine
The machine tool is suitable for aviation, military and general machinery manufacturing industries, and is used to process the inner surface, grooves, stepped surfaces and any angle surface of shell and frame parts. The machine tool accuracy should meet the basic model requirements. In addition to the performance characteristics of the basic model series, the machine tool should also have the following performance characteristics: a) It has a universal angle milling head with a 45° swivel surface; b) The milling head should be stable when working;

4.1.3 High-speed bed milling machine, column moving high-speed bed milling machine, high-speed ram bed milling machine are suitable for aviation, automobile tractor, instrument, electrical appliances and other industries, and can mill non-ferrous metal materials such as aluminum and magnesium alloys. The machine tool accuracy should meet the requirements of the basic model.
In addition to the performance characteristics of the basic model series, the machine tool should also have the following performance characteristics: a) The maximum spindle speed is not less than 2500r/min, and the maximum feed rate is not less than 3000mm/min; b) It should be stable when working at high speed:
c) There are reliable spindle starting and braking devices: d) There are measures to control the temperature rise and thermal deformation of the spindle. 4.1.4 Low-speed bed milling machine, column moving low-speed bed milling machine are suitable for military industry, steam turbine, automobile tractor, aviation and other industries, and can mill heat-resistant alloy steel, titanium alloy steel, high-strength alloy steel and other difficult-to-process materials. The machine tool accuracy should meet the requirements of the basic model. In addition to the performance characteristics of the basic series, the machine tool should also have the following performance characteristics: a) The minimum spindle speed is not higher than 10r/min, and the minimum feed rate is not greater than 8mm/min; b) When working at low speed, it should run smoothly and have good shock resistance; the down milling mechanism should ensure reliable operation under dynamic load; d) The feed system has a reliable overload protection device; e) Each moving part has a reliable locking mechanism. 4.1.5. The profiling bed milling machine, column moving profiling bed milling machine and ram profiling bed milling machine are suitable for general machinery manufacturing, aviation and military industries, and are used to process various molds, plane curves and complex curved surface parts. The profiling accuracy is not less than ±0.1mm (precision type is not less than ±0.03mm), and the accuracy of other machine tools should comply with the basic model regulations. The machine tools are divided into single-coordinate, double-coordinate and three-coordinate profiling milling machines according to the number of coordinates that can be controlled simultaneously. 4.1.6 CNC bed milling machines, CNC column moving bed milling machines, and CNC ram bed milling machines are suitable for small-batch production of multiple varieties in aviation, shipbuilding, aerospace, military industry, and general machinery manufacturing industries. CNC milling machines controlled by points and lines are mainly used to process planes and coordinate hole systems of parts. CNC milling machines controlled by arcs and space interpolation are used to process parts with plane contour curves and three-dimensional curved surfaces. The machine tools still have general milling processing performance. The machine tool accuracy should comply with the provisions of JB/T8329.1, and the machine tools are Class V (ordinary) and Class IV (precision) accuracy machine tools specified in JB/T9871-1999. In addition to the performance characteristics of the basic series, the machine tool should also have the following performance characteristics: a) High-efficiency transmission pairs are used in the three feeding directions of X, Y, and Z. The feeding system must have sufficient transmission stiffness and should have a preload and clearance elimination mechanism:

4.1.7 CNC turret bed milling machine, CNC column moving turret bed milling machine machine tools are suitable for aviation, military industry, mold manufacturing, hydraulic parts valve body and general machinery manufacturing, cutting center batch more complex shell parts, and can perform drilling, boring, tapping and other processes. The machine tool accuracy is equivalent to that of CNC bed milling machine. In addition to the performance characteristics of the basic series, the machine tool should also have the following performance characteristics: a) The turret spindle body is hexagonal or octagonal; b) The turret positioning adopts a high-precision positioning mechanism, and the adjacent station conversion time is no more than 8s; c) The thermal deformation is small.
4.2 Horizontal
Horizontal bed milling machine, column moving horizontal bed milling machine, and ram horizontal bed milling machine are the basic series. The machine tool has the same purpose as the vertical milling machine and can be used for milling planes, grooves, step surfaces, drilling, and hole processing. Equipped with corresponding accessories, it can mill angle surfaces, arc surfaces, spur racks, spur gears, splines and other parts. The ram moving type is particularly suitable for milling the inner cavity of frame-shaped parts and box parts. The machine tool accuracy should comply with the provisions of GB/T3932.
The performance characteristics of the horizontal milling machine variant products are basically the same as those of the corresponding vertical milling machine variant products. 5 Varieties
