This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Machinery Industry of the People's Republic of China and was drafted by the Standardization Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry. Shenyang Heavy Machinery Plant, Chongqing Heavy Automobile Research Institute, Dalian Combined Machine Tool Research Institute, Zhejiang Haiyan County Pipe Fittings Factory, Shanghai No. 1 Electromechanical Bureau Technology Information Institute, and the 708th Institute of the Ministry of Aerospace participated in the drafting. The main drafters of this standard are Hu Lusheng, Liu Dequan, Cheng Zhenshi, and Wang Muqin. From the date of implementation of this standard, the original ministry standard JB196777 "Flange-type right-angle joint body" shall be invalid.
