This standard is not suitable for the determination of water-based coatings. The determination of water-based coatings can be based on the method of S357. The applicable temperature range of this standard varies depending on the instrument used, from -30°C to 110°C (see table). The results obtained with mixed solvents containing halogenated hydrocarbons should be noted, because these mixed solvents may produce irregular results. 2 Normative references The clauses in the following documents shall become the clauses of this standard from the date of reference. The lowest flash temperature of the test sample under the atmospheric pressure calibrated to 101.3ePa is the flash point. 4 PrinciplebzxZ.net 4.1 The test sample is placed in a closed cup buried in a heating pool. The temperature of the heating pool should be gradually increased so that the temperature difference between the liquid in the heating pool and the temperature of the test sample in the cup does not exceed 2℃, and the temperature increase rate of the test sample does not exceed 0.5℃ every 1.5min. 4.2 During the heating period, the time interval between ignitions is at least 1.5min. Record the lowest temperature during the internal ignition. 5 Chemical reagents 5.1 Cleaning solvents and remove the residues of the previous test sample on the test cup and cover. Note: The choice of solvent should be determined based on the materials of the previous test and the residual strength of the residues. Selective aromatic (non-extractable) solvents can be used to remove oils. Mixed solvents such as methyl-acetone-methanol can effectively remove colloidal substances. 5.2 Calibration liquids, see Note A. 6 Receivers 6.1 Test cup and cover; closed cup, equipped with built-in level indicator and cup cover. GB/T21775-2008/ISO1523:2002 or the test cup should be tightly combined with the cover, the cover can be moved, so that the ignition device can be used. When the sliding part is opened, an ignition zone with a true diameter of 3 mm to 4 mm is set near the center of the cover. When ignited, the top of the ignition device should be located between the upper and lower planes of the cover, and expand radially from the center of the open part. The instrument should be designed to ensure that the ignition test process: opening the sliding cover, placing and removing the nozzle, closing the cover is completed within 2s to 3s. As long as these requirements are met, a machine-driven instrument can also be used. For example: the fire source in the ignition device can be any suitable combustible gas. 6.2 Test thermometer, suitable for test cup, in accordance with the standard provisions listed in Table 1. Note that other types of temperature testers listed in Table 1 can also be used as long as the accuracy meets the requirements and meets the standard provisions listed in Table 1.
