This standard specifies the type, basic parameters and dimensions, technical requirements, inspection rules and markings, packaging, storage, etc. of the cross-shaft universal coupling with a partial bearing seat (hereinafter referred to as the universal coupling). The universal coupling specified in this standard is mainly suitable for rolling machinery, lifting and transportation machinery and other heavy machinery to connect the transmission shaft system of two different axes. Its rotary diameter is 160~640mm; the nominal torque is 16~1250kN·m; the axis angle A~F type ≤10°, G type ≤5°.

Connection method and size of universal coupling
JB 3241—91
Universal coupling uses high-strength bolts and self-locking nuts to connect the flanges at both ends to other mechanical components. Its torque is transmitted through the flange end face key and the friction between the flanges. The relevant connection dimensions and bolt pre-tightening torque are specified in Figure 8 and Table 10. Bolts can only be put in from the flange side that matches the coupling, and nuts are tightened from the flange side of the universal coupling. The mechanical properties of the bolts should comply with the 10.9 grade in GB3098.1, and the mechanical properties of the nuts should comply with the 10 grade in GB3098.4. E
