National Standard of the People's Republic of China 70 mm65 mm.35 mm and 16 mm Splices for use on 70 mm, 65 mm, 35 mm and 16 mmmotion-picture films--dimensions and locationsGB/T 5300-94 Replaces GB 5300 -- 86 This standard refers to and adopts the international standard ISO6038-1993 & 70 mm, 65 mm, 35 mm and 16 mm motion-picture films--dimensions and locations. 1. Subject matter and scope of application This standard specifies the locations and dimensions of transverse adhesive laps, heat welded laps and butt joints for 70 mm, 65 mm, 35 mm and 16 mm motion-picture films and magnetic or optical soundtrack release copies. This standard applies to the mold-bonded lap joints, hot coal lap joints and adhesive joints of 70 mm, 65 mm, 35 mm and 16 mm motion picture negatives, intermediates and release copies. 2 Types of film joints 1 Type (printing type): lap joints for short-perforation motion picture negatives and intermediates bonded with glue. Type (projection type): lap joints for non-anamorphic motion picture release copies bonded with glue. Straight type (projection type): lap joints for anamorphic motion picture release copies bonded with glue. Type (reduction type): butt joints made of transparent tape for 70 mm motion picture release copies. 3 Position and size 3. 1 The sizes in the tables apply to motion picture films with a nominal shrinkage of less than 0.5%. 3.2 The types and sizes of 16 m2 motion picture film joints are shown in Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 4 and Table 1 and Table 4. Figure 4 Film joint thickness and width deviation range (applicable to various films) Table 4 Film joint thickness and width deviation range (applicable to various film joints) Note: 1) Due to the different lateral shrinkage of the two films, the alignment deviation of the two films may exceed G, and the protruding part formed by the alignment deviation should be tilted forward. 3.616mm35mm, 65mm and 70mm film The lateral width of the film joint should not exceed 16.a0mm, 35.03mm, 65. 05 mm and 70. 05 mm respectively. mm. 3.7 After the overlap, the film should be in a straight line, and the corresponding film edge angle should be 180°±4. That is, when the film edge at one end of the joint is used as the reference, the deviation of the film edge at the other end from the joint at 130 mm should not be greater than 0.15 mm. 4 Technical requirements 4.1 All joints should be able to withstand a tensile force of more than 1.5 times the film gate tension of the projector of this type of film. 4.2 If the film to be joined has a magnetic coating, the coating on the bonding surface must be scraped off when joining. 4.3 After joining, all the film holes at the joints must be repaired and cleaned. 4.4 In order to avoid white lines on the silver during projection, the scraping width of the covered part of the overlap joint should be 0.03~0.08 mm narrower than the overlapped part. 4.5 In order to allow the movie color film to pass smoothly through the magnetic head, it should be overlapped as shown in Figure 5. Butt Direction of film travel Figure 5 Schematic diagram of film joint passing through magnetic head 4.6 The joint of the butt joint should be on the film frame dividing line. The gap between the butt copies shall not exceed 0.08mm.4.7 When using transparent tape to butt films (Type IV), transparent tape must be pasted on both surfaces of the films to be joined. It is not allowed to stick tape on only one side, nor is it allowed to wrap the joint with tape. The tape pasted at the joint must be wide enough to cover at least half of the GB/T5300-94 frame on both sides of the butt joint. It is best to cover the entire frame so that the joint does not look obvious. 4.8 For butt joints of optical soundtrack copies, transparent tape should be applied on both sides of the joints to cover the entire width of the film. For magnetic soundtrack copies, transparent tape should be applied on the non-track side to cover the entire width of the film. On the track side, the tape should not be applied to the part that the magnetic head will contact. 4.9 All joints should be glued on the film splicer.
