This standard is applicable to the protection classification of electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 72.5kV and protected by an enclosure. 2 Purpose
The purpose of this standard is as follows:
a Specifies the enclosure protection level of electrical equipment for the following contents: 1) Preventing the human body from approaching dangerous parts inside the enclosure; 2) Preventing solid foreign matter from entering the equipment inside the enclosure: ;3) Prevent harmful effects on the equipment due to water entering the shell: indication of protection levels;
b.
c.
Requirements for each protection level;
d. Conduct verification tests on the enclosure in accordance with the requirements of this standard. The degree and method of quoting the protection level of the shell for various products, as well as what kind of shell is used, are left to be determined by the product standards. The tests used for the specific protection levels should comply with the provisions of this standard. If necessary, supplements can be added to the relevant product labels. Require. See Appendix B for details that may be specified in relevant product standards. For special types of equipment, product standards can specify different requirements, but at least the same level of safety must be ensured. This standard only considers enclosures that comply with relevant product standards in all aspects. Under normal use conditions, the materials and processes of the enclosure should ensure that the required protection level is achieved.
If a certain type of equipment meets the general requirements for testing and the selected protection level is suitable for that type of equipment, this standard also applies to the empty enclosure of that type of equipment.
Related to mechanical damage, rust, corrosive solvents, mold, insect damage, solar radiation, ice, moisture (such as caused by condensation), explosive gas and other external influences or environmental conditions that damage the shell and the equipment inside the shell Protective measures and prevention of contact with dangerous moving parts outside the enclosure (such as fans) are specified by the relevant product standards.
Partitions that are not connected to the enclosure and barriers specifically designed for personal safety are not considered part of the enclosure. 3 Terms
3.1 Enclosure
Equipment components that protect the equipment from certain external influences and prevent direct contact in all directions. Note: Parts that prevent or restrict the entry of test tools specified in this standard, and that form holes or other openings, whether attached to the enclosure or covering the equipment, are considered part of the enclosure and do not require the use of keys or tools. Except for parts that can be removed. The State Bureau of Technical Supervision approved the implementation on 1994-08-01 on 1993-12-28
3.2 Direct contact directcontact
Contact between humans or livestock and live parts.

According to the inspection method specified in the standard, the degree of protection provided by the shell to access dangerous parts and prevent the entry of solid foreign objects or the entry of water. 3.4 IP code IPcode
A code system that indicates the enclosure's level of protection against hazardous parts for human access, protection against the ingress of solid foreign objects or water, and additional information related to these protections.
3.5 Hazardous parts hazardous parts
Parts that are dangerous when approached or contacted.
3.5.1 Hazardous live parts hazardous live parts are live parts that can cause electric shock under certain external influence conditions. 3.5.2 Hazardous mechanical parts are moving parts that are dangerous when in contact with hazardous mechanical parts. Except for smooth rotating shafts. 3.6: The protection provided by the enclosure against access to hazardous parts protectionprovidedbyanenclosureagainstaccesstohazardousparts
The enclosure protects the human body from contact with dangerous low-voltage live parts, contact with dangerous mechanical parts, and access to dangerous high-voltage live parts with less than a sufficient gap inside the enclosure.
Note: This protection can be achieved by means of the enclosure itself, by means of partitions that are part of the enclosure or by means of distances within the enclosure. 3.7 Sufficient clearance to prevent access to hazardous parts adequateclearanceforprotectionagainstaccesstohazardousparts
The distance that can prevent the test tool from contacting or approaching the hazardous parts. See 11.3 for details. 3.8 Access probe accessprobe | || tt | holes or gaps formed. 4 mark
4.1 Composition and meaning of IP code
IP code consists of code letters IP (International Protection), the first characteristic number, the second characteristic number, additional letters, and supplementary letters.
When the characteristic number is not required to be specified, the letter "X" is used instead (if both letters are omitted, "XX" is used). Additional letters and/or supplementary letters may be omitted and do not need to be replaced. When more than one supplementary letter is used, they should be arranged in alphabetical order. When the enclosure uses different installation methods to provide different protection levels, the manufacturer should indicate the protection levels in the instructions for the corresponding installation methods.
Please see Chapter 9 for details on how to mark the shell.
The composition of the IP code is shown in Table 1. For detailed instructions, see the regulations indicated in Table 1. Group

8 supplementary letters
In relevant product standards, supplementary letters may be used to indicate supplementary content. Supplementary letters are placed after the second characteristic number or additional letters. The supplementary content should be consistent with the requirements of this standard, and the product standard should clearly state the supplementary requirements for this level of testing. The letters and meanings of supplementary content are shown in Table 7. Word

Waterproof test is carried out when the movable parts of the equipment (such as the rotor of the rotating motor) are running. Components (such as the rotor of a rotating electrical machine) that are suitable for the specified climatic conditions when stationary and have additional protective features or processes. Additional letters other than those listed in Table 7 may be used in product standards. In order to avoid repeated use of supplementary letters, the requirements for citing new letters in product standards are shown in Appendix B8.
If there are no letters S and M, it means that the protection level has nothing to do with whether the equipment components are running or not, and the test needs to be done both when the equipment is running and when it is stationary. However, if the test is obviously passable under another condition, it is generally sufficient to do the test under one condition. 9Mark
Product standards should stipulate the requirements for marking. For the following situations, product standards should also make appropriate provisions for marking methods: a. When one part of the shell has a different protection level from another part; when the installation position affects the protection level; b.

10.1 Environmental conditions for waterproof and dustproof testing
Unless otherwise specified in the relevant product standards, the test should be conducted under the specified standard environmental conditions. , during the test, the recommended environmental conditions are as follows: Temperature range: 15~35℃
Relative humidity: 25%~75%
Atmospheric pressure: 86~106kPa
(860~1060mbar )
10.2 Sample
The test specified in this standard is a type test. Unless otherwise specified in the product standard, the samples used for each test should be clean and new. All components should be installed in place as specified by the manufacturer.
If the test cannot be carried out on the entire equipment, it should be carried out on representative parts or on smaller equipment designed with the same proportions. Relevant product standards should stipulate the number of specimens, specimen installation, combination, positioning conditions (such as ceiling, floor or wall installation), pretreatment methods (if any), and whether they are powered or running during the test. If the product standard does not specify details, they should be specified by the manufacturer's instructions. 10.3 Application of test requirements and judgment of test results. The application of general test requirements and the acceptance conditions of the test when the equipment has drain holes and ventilation holes are stipulated by the relevant product standards. If there are no such provisions, the provisions of this standard shall be followed.
The judgment of test results is stipulated by relevant product standards. If not specified, the acceptance conditions of this standard shall be regarded as minimum requirements. 10.4 Test conditions for the first characteristic digit
The test conditions for the first characteristic digit are shown in Table 8.0mm, a sufficient gap must be maintained between the test tool and the dangerous parts with a length of 100mm
