ISOForeword
ISO (Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide alliance of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The formulation of international standards is generally completed through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a project established by a technical committee has the right to express its opinion on the technical committee. Any official or unofficial international organization that has a liaison relationship with ISO can directly participate in the formulation of ISO international standards. ISO and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) work closely in all areas of electronic technology standards. The draft international standard formally adopted by the technical committee must be distributed to each member body for voting before being accepted as an international standard by the ISO Council. According to ISO's working procedures, the draft standard becomes an international standard only after it is approved by at least 75% of the members voting. International Standard 1SO8439 was developed by ISO/TC154 Administrative, Commercial and Industrial Documents and Data Elements Technical Committee in cooperation with the Universal Postal Union (UPU).

This standard specifies the overall size of the document format used in administration, commerce and industry, the graphic area and its division and the data area 2 Reference standards
The provisions contained in the following standards constitute the provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. When this standard is published, the versions shown are valid. All standards will be revised, and the parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest version of the following standards. 4 Overall dimensions, page margins and image and text area
GB/T 16832-1997
The basic overall dimensions of this standard are based on the A4 and A5L types specified in GB148 and ISO353. In order to be consistent with Appendix A of SJ/Z9054, the following dimensions should be used:
Left page margin 20mm±1.0mm
Top page margin 10mm±1.0 mm
A4 image and text area dimensions 183mm×280mm
A5L image and text area dimensions 183mmX131mm
Note: This standard applies to other A-type paper included in GB148 or paper of ordinary non-ISO standard sizes. When using different sizes of paper to exchange document content, be careful not to place information outside the text area of the paper used.
5 Text Area Division
5.1 Vertical Division
The vertical division and numbering of the text area should refer to Appendix A and Appendix B of SJ/Z9054, and the vertical division can be divided into several rows. 5.2 Horizontal Division
The horizontal division of the text area should refer to Appendix A of SJ/Z9054 and can be divided into several columns. The A4 text area can be divided into 72 basic column spacings. 6 Data Area
The text area can be divided into several data areas, generally the issuer area, reference area and address area. 6.1 Issuer Area This area is used to identify the issuer of the document (name, logo, etc.), and if necessary, the name of the competent official department should also be identified.
Detailed information of the issuer (postal address, telephone number, telex and fax address, etc.) not provided in this area is best placed in the additional issuer area at the bottom of the format.
6.2 Reference area This area is used for document identifiers (file names), document codes, dates and other references. 6.3 Address area This area indicates one or two addresses. 7 Example
For reference and to facilitate the formation of standard forms, the width of the text area can be further subdivided. The text area with a width of 72 bws (183 mm) can be divided into 8 columns, each 9 bws wide, see Figure 1, and the column scale is Co to C8. 7.2 Figure 2
Figure 2 gives an example of the upper part of the format of the text area with a width of 72 bws (183 mm). In this example, the area marked 09 to 17 constitutes the address area. The address starts at 09. When designing documents for window envelopes, areas 16 to 17 are left blank. Note: In the GB/T14392-1993 trade document format, only areas 10 to 14 are used as address details areas. 30

(First edition, confirmed 1987-07)
Processed writing paper and certain kinds of printed matter — Method of indicating dimensions The purpose of this International Standard is to facilitate communication between producers, processors and users of paperboard by establishing provisions concerning the specified dimensions of loose or bound paperboard when cut and printed (with separate leaves) in any manner, such as books, loose-leaf or notebooks. This standard applies to all stages of production. It is not necessarily applicable to all types of end-users: librarians, archivists, etc. Methods of indicating the dimensions and orientation of unprocessed paper products are the subject of ISO 217, entitled Unprocessed writing and printing paper — Method of indicating the dimensions and orientation of products. It is not possible for the current international methods to take into account all the possible situations that may be encountered. Occasional situations. For example: the prerequisite stipulated in the fourth clause is that the printing lines are always horizontal.
If there is any doubt about the current international standard and its exact meaning regarding reasonable use, especially in unusual situations. The supplier should give accurate data in addition to the ISO regulations and the required paper samples in the form of a sample or diagram. A1 Scope and field of application
This international standard specifies the method of indicating the size of processed paper in this way so that the shape of the processed product can also be indicated.
"Processed" in this context means processed, such as processed by a printer or stationer. Examples of such processing are printing, marking, punching, folding and binding. A2 flat sheet (printed, marked, punched, etc.) single sheet A2.1 Overview
The ISO size is indicated by paper symbols:
A2.1.1 ISO size
A2.1.1.1 The symbol without any additional letter means that the shorter side is parallel to the reading or writing direction. Example: (see Figure A1) A4
A2.1.1.2 The symbol followed by the letter L means that the longer side is parallel to the reading or writing direction. Example: (See Figure A2) A4L
Figure A] Brand: A4
A2.1.2 Sizes different from IS
Figure A2 Brand: A11
GB/T 16832—1997
Length and width are in millimeters or inches, indicating the size of the paper, separated by a mark in the middle, and the smaller size is given first. In places where it is easy to confuse, for example: when trading between countries using the metric system and the imperial system, the size unit should be indicated (such as: Metric: 30mmX40mm: Imperial: 30inX40in). A2.1.2.1 The length and width of the paper indicated, as shown above, if there is no additional letter, means that the shorter side is parallel to the reading or writing direction.
Example: (See Figure A3) 150×310
A2.1.2.2 Indicate the two dimensions of the paper, as shown above, if followed by L, which means that the longer side is parallel to the reading or writing direction. Example: (See Figure A4) 150×310L
Designation: 150×310
A2.2 Provisions for perforated flat sheets
Designation: 150X310L
A2.2.1 If the perforation line is at right angles to the reading or writing direction, the provisions established in A2.1.1 and A2.1.2 shall apply. Example: (See Figures A5 to A8)

A2.2.2 If the perforation line is parallel to the reading or writing direction, the provisions in A2.1.1 and A2.1.2 shall apply. Then add the letter T at the end.
Example: (see Figure A9 to Figure A12)
