This standard specifies the basic dimensions and positioning forms of core heads for casting patterns. This standard is applicable to wooden patterns, metal patterns and plastic patterns for self-hardening sand molds such as wet molds, dry molds, resin sand and water glass sand in sand casting (machine molding or manual molding).
2 Terminology
2.1 Horizontal core head
The core head placed horizontally when closing the box is a horizontal core head. 2.2 Vertical core head
The core head placed vertically when closing the box is a vertical core head. 3 Core head size
Horizontal core head (see Figure 1)

Appendix A
Dimensions of clamping ring, clamping half ring, anti-pressure ring, sand collecting groove and chamfer (supplementary part)
A1 To prevent metal liquid from entering the vent hole of wet mold, it should be vertical to the core. A clamping ring is made on the top surface of the upper core head (see Figure A1); a clamping half ring is made on the upper core head surface of the horizontal core (see Figure A2). A2 An anti-pressure ring should be made on the core head of the horizontal dry mold and self-hardening sand mold (see Figure A2). A3 In order to prevent the core from scratching the core seat surface during assembly and causing part of the molding sand to fall into the core seat, a sand collecting groove should be made on the lower vertical core seat soil of the wet mold, dry mold and self-hardening sand mold (see Figure A1); a chamfer should be made on the horizontal core head (see Figure A2). A4 The dimensions of the clamping ring, clamping half ring, anti-pressure ring, sand collecting groove and chamfer should comply with Figure A1, Figure A2 and Table A1. +
