Notice on the Issuance of the "Unified Standard for Building Architectural Drawings"
Ji Biao [1986] No. 2614
According to the notice of the former State Construction Commission (81) Jianfa She Zi No. 546, the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction and Environmental Protection, together with relevant units, revised the "Architectural Drawing Standards" GBJ1-73. The revised "Architectural Drawing Standards" are divided into six volumes, and the "Unified Standard for Building Architectural Drawings" is one of them, which has been reviewed by relevant departments. The "Unified Standard for Building Architectural Drawings" GBJ1-86 is now approved as a national standard and will be implemented from July 1, 1987. From the date of implementation of this standard, the relevant parts of the original "Architectural Drawing Standards" GBJ1-73 will be automatically abolished.
This standard is managed by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction and Environmental Protection, and its specific interpretation is the responsibility of the China Building Standard Design Institute. The publication and distribution work is organized by the Capital Construction Standard and Quota Research Institute of our Commission.

Revision Notes
This standard is compiled by the China Building Standard Design Institute of our Ministry together with relevant units in accordance with the "Notice on the Compilation and Revision Plan of National Standards and Regulations for Engineering Construction from 1983 to 1985" No. 546 of the former State Construction Commission's "81" Jianfa Shezi.
This standard is compiled on the basis of the original architectural drawing standard (GBJ1-73), with the necessary modifications and supplements to the common parts of each profession, and renamed "Unified Standard for Building Architectural Drawing". The professional drawing standards for each professional part of the original standard have been compiled separately by profession. This standard should be used in conjunction with various professional standards. During the revision process, this standard carefully summarized my country's practical experience, combined with my country's actual situation, and actively adopted international standards: drawing specifications, lines, fonts, proportions, axis numbers, projection methods, dimension annotation methods, etc. are basically consistent with international standards, and microfilm requirements are taken into account, which basically meets the current domestic technical level. On the basis of extensively soliciting opinions from relevant design, construction, scientific research and colleges and universities across the country, our department will review and finalize the draft together with relevant departments.
This standard is divided into ten chapters and four appendices. Its main contents include: general principles, drawing format specifications and drawing arrangement order, lines, fonts, proportions, symbols, positioning axes, common building material legends, drawing methods, dimension annotations, etc. In the process of implementing this standard, please combine engineering practice, carefully summarize experience, pay attention to accumulating information, and if you find that there is a need for modification and supplementation, please send your opinions and information to the China Building Standard Design Institute for reference during revision. Chapter 1 General Provisions
Article 1.0.1 This standard is formulated to ensure that building architectural drawings are basically unified, clear and concise, to ensure the quality of drawings, to improve drawing efficiency, to meet the requirements of design, construction, archiving, etc., and to meet the needs of engineering construction. Article 1.0.2 This standard is the basic provision for building construction drawings and is applicable to the following engineering drawings:
1. Design drawings and completion drawings of each stage of new construction, reconstruction and expansion projects; 3. Measured drawings of existing buildings, structures, general plans, etc.; 3. General drawings and standard drawings.
Article 1.0.3 In addition to complying with this standard, building construction drawings shall also comply with the requirements of the current relevant national standards and specifications and the drawing regulations of various relevant professions. Article 2.1.3 The short side of the drawing shall not be lengthened, and the long side may be lengthened, but it shall comply with the provisions of Table 2.1.3. (See the previous page)
Article 2.1.4 Drawings with the short side as the vertical side are called horizontal, and those with the short side as the horizontal side are called vertical. Generally, A0~A3 drawings should be used in horizontal format; if necessary, they can also be used in vertical format.
Article 2.1.5 Drawings used for a profession should not have more than two formats. The A4 format used for catalogs and tables is not subject to this restriction. Section 2 Title Block and Countersignature Column
Article 2.2.1 The positions of the drawing title block (referred to as icon), countersignature column and binding margin shall comply with the following provisions:
1. Drawings used in horizontal format shall be arranged in the form of Figure 2.1.1a; 2. Drawings used in vertical format shall be arranged in the form of Figure 2.1.1b; 3. A4 drawings used in vertical format shall be arranged in the form of Figure 2.1.1c. Article 2.2.2 The length of the long side of the icon shall be 180mm; the length of the short side shall be 40, 30, or 50mm.
Article 2.2.3 The icons shall be divided into sections according to the format of Figure 2.2.3. In the foreign-related engineering diagram, the Chinese translation of each major content should be attached below, and the words "People's Republic of China" should be added above the name of the design unit (Figure 2.2.3).
