my country belongs to a complex monsoon climate zone, and rainfall has the characteristics of stage, regional, process, and concentration. The location, intensity, and duration of the rainfall process greatly affect mountain torrents, geological disasters, river basin floods, urban waterlogging, etc. Its accurate forecast is an important basis for governments at all levels to allocate water resources and disaster prevention and mitigation. This standard aims to unify the rainfall process grade standards, promote the improvement of the rainfall process forecast service level, and better play its social and economic benefits.

1 Scope
Rainfall process level
This standard specifies the rainfall process level and classification method. This standard applies to the forecast, service and scientific research of rainfall process. 2
Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 2.1
Rainfall process
The entire evolution process of the occurrence, development and end of rainfall. 2.2
Rainfall
rainfall
The accumulated depth on the horizontal surface of rain that falls from the sky to the ground without evaporation, infiltration and loss in a certain period of time. 2.3
Daily rainfall
Daily rainfall
The accumulated rainfall within 24 hours of a day.
3 Single-station rainfall process level
3.1 Single-station daily rainfall level
The daily rainfall level of a single station is based on the daily rainfall of the station, see Table 1. Standard Service
1 Single-station daily rainfall level classification table
Heavy rain
Extremely heavy rain
3.2 Single-station rainfall process level
The rainfall process level of a single station is the strongest level among the daily rainfall levels of the station during the rainfall process. Daily rainfall

Regional rainfall process level
Regional daily rainfall level
Regional can be divided into provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government), cross-provincial (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) or geographical scopes of equivalent area. The stations in the region include national ground meteorological observation stations at or above the county level and regional automatic stations. The regional daily rainfall level is based on the daily rainfall level of a single station and is determined according to the percentage of stations that reach a certain level in the region, see Table 2. If different level standards are met at the same time, the regional daily rainfall level is determined according to the strongest level.
Heavy rainstorm
Extremely heavy rainstorm
Regional rainfall process level
Regional daily rainfall level classification table
Classification method
Light rain occurred at more than 40% of the stations in the region
Moderate rain occurred at more than 30% of the stations in the region
Heavy rain occurred at more than 20% of the stations in the region
Heavy rain occurred at more than 10% of the stations in the region
Heavy rain occurred at more than 5% of the stations in the regionHeavy rain occurred at more than 5% of the stations in the region, and extremely heavy rain occurred at more than 2% of the stationsThe regional rainfall process level is the strongest level among the daily rainfall levels in the region during the rainfall process.
