Introduction to standards:

This standard specifies the maximum plane dimensions of rigid rectangular transport packages made of paper, wood, plastic, metal and other materials. This standard applies to transport packages for single cargo transported by road, rail and water. Transport packages for non-single cargo can refer to it. This standard specifies the maximum plane dimensions of rigid rectangular transport packages made of paper, wood, plastic, metal and other materials. This standard applies to transport packages for single cargo transported by road, rail and water. Transport packages for non-single cargo can refer to it.
This standard corresponds to ISO3394:1984 "Rigid rectangular transport package size series" (English version). The consistency of this standard with ISO3394:1984 is not equivalent, and the main differences are as follows:
--- The four plane dimensions of 1200 mm×800 mm, 1200 mm×600 mm, 1200 mm×400 mm, and 800 mm×600 mm and their arrangement diagrams that are not suitable for the arrangement of 1200 mm×1000 mm unit goods have been deleted;
--- The packaging module dimensions, plane dimensions and their arrangement diagrams of 550 mm×366 mm transport packages have been added.
This standard replaces GB/T4892-1996 "Hard Rectangular Transport Package Dimension Series". Compared with GB/T4892-1996, the main changes of this standard are as follows:
--- The plane dimensions of rigid rectangular transport packages in the scope are modified to the maximum plane dimensions of rigid rectangular transport packages (see Chapter 1);
--- The plane dimensions of transport packages in the principle can be obtained by multiplying or dividing the module size 600 mm×400 mm with an integer; or based on the packaging unit cargo size, the plane dimensions are modified to the plane dimensions of transport packages by multiplying or dividing the packaging module size with an integer by the segmentation method (see Chapter 4);
--- The unit cargo size: 1200mm×1000mm, 1200mm×800mm, 1140mm×1140mm, are modified to 1200mm×1000mm, 1100mm×1100mm (see Chapter 6);
--- The inappropriate 1200 mm×1000 mm is deleted The four plane dimensions and arrangement diagrams of 1200 mm×800 mm, 1200 mm×600 mm, 1200 mm×400 mm, and 800 mm×600 mm for unit cargo arrangement (see Table 1 and Figure 1);
--- The 1140 mm×1140 mm unit cargo segmentation dimensions and arrangement diagrams have been deleted;
--- The packaging module dimensions, plane dimensions and arrangement diagrams of 550 mm×366 mm transport packages have been added (see Table 2 and Figure 2).
This standard is proposed by the Standardization Administration of China.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Packaging Standardization (SAC/TC49).
Drafting organizations of this standard: Ministry of Transport Science and Technology Research Institute, China Packaging Federation, Ministry of Railways Standardization and Metrology Research Institute, Sinochem Chemical Industry Standardization Research Institute.

This standard corresponds to ISO3394:1984 "Dimensions of rigid rectangular packages-Transportpackages" (English version). This standard is not equivalent to ISO3394:1984. The main differences are as follows: In addition to the four plane dimensions and arrangement diagrams of 1200mm×800mm, 1200mm×600mm, 1200mm×400mm and 800mm×600mm which are not suitable for the arrangement of 1200mm×1000mm unit cargo; the packaging module dimensions, plane dimensions and arrangement diagrams of 550mm×366mm transport packages are added. This standard replaces GB/T4892-1996 "Hard Rectangular Transport Packaging Dimension Series". Compared with GB/T4892-1996, the main changes of this standard are as follows:
The "plane dimensions of rigid rectangular transport packages" in "scope" is changed to "the maximum plane dimensions of rigid rectangular transport packages" (see Chapter 1)
The "principle\ plane dimensions of transport packages can be obtained by multiplying or dividing the module size 600mm×400mm with an integer; or based on the packaging unit cargo size, the plane dimensions are calculated by segmentation" is changed to "the plane dimensions of transport packages can be obtained by multiplying or dividing the packaging module size with an integer" (see Chapter 4) The unit cargo size: 1200mm×1000mm.1200 mm×800mm.1140mm×1140mm, modified to 1200mm×1000mm.11c0mm×1100mm (see Chapter 6): Deleted the four plane dimensions of 1200mm×800mm.1200mm×600mm, 1200mm×400mm.800mm×600mm and their arrangement diagrams (see Table 1, Figure 1) that are not suitable for the arrangement of 1200mm×1000mm unit cargo; Deleted the 1140mm×1140mm unit cargo segmentation dimensions and their arrangement diagrams; Added the packaging modulus dimensions, plane dimensions and their arrangement diagrams of 550mm×366mm transport packages (see Table 2, Figure 2). This standard is proposed by the Standardization Administration of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Packaging Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC49). 1 Scope
Dimension series of rigid rectangular transport packaging
GB/T4892—2008
This standard specifies the maximum plane dimensions of rigid rectangular transport packaging made of various materials such as paper, wood, plastic, and metal. This standard applies to transport packages for unit cargo transported by road, rail, and water. Transport packages for non-unit cargo can be implemented as a reference.
2 Normative references
