ISO Foreword
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an international organization of national standard bodies (ISO member groups). The formulation of international standards is carried out by ISO's technical committees. Each member group has the right to participate in the committee if it is interested in the subject of a technical committee. Governmental and non-governmental international organizations associated with ISO can also participate in this work. The draft international standards adopted by the technical committees are sent to the member groups for approval before being approved as international standards by the ISO Council. According to the ISO standard formulation procedure, the international standard draft must be voted in favor by at least 75% of the members to become an international standard. International standard ISO6050 was prepared by ISO/TC8…-Shipbuilding and Marine E-structures Technical Committee. Users should note that all international standards are subject to frequent revision.
