This standard is a revision of the original national standard GB4047-1983 "Watch Case Round Glass Size Series". During the revision process, except for the format being implemented in accordance with GB/T1.1-1993 (Guidelines for Standardization Work Unit 1: Drafting and Expression Rules of Standards Part 1: Basic Provisions for Standard Writing
), its technical content has been greatly modified. According to the development and changes in watch glass styles and materials in recent years, those dimensional matching tolerances that are no longer of practical significance have been removed, and the outer diameter and thickness size series of round watch glasses have been retained. This standard was proposed by the Quality Standard Promotion Department of the China Light Industry Federation. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Clock and Watch Standardization Center. The drafting unit of this standard: Shanghai Watch Case Factory No. 1. The main drafters of this standard: Zhou Zeming and Yu Qun. This standard will be effective from the date of implementation. Starting from 1983, it also replaces GB4047--1983. 112
