SN/T0987.4—2013
5 Requirements
5.1 The container body shall be made of suitable plastic materials with known specification standards and its strength shall be sufficient for its capacity and purpose. The manufacturing material shall be sufficient to resist aging and the substances contained. In some cases, due to degradation caused by ultraviolet radiation, its low temperature performance shall be considered as necessary. Under normal transportation conditions, the diffusion of any contained substances shall not be dangerous. 5.2 When ultraviolet protection is required, the method of adding carbon black or other suitable pigments or inhibitors shall be adopted. These additives shall be compatible with the contents and remain effective throughout the service life of the container. If the carbon black, pigment or inhibitor used is different from the additive used during the manufacturing design type inspection, re-inspection can be exempted as long as the content of carbon black, pigment or inhibitor does not adversely affect the physical properties of the manufacturing material.
5.3 In addition to the use of additives to protect against ultraviolet rays, the composition of plastic materials may also include some additives for other purposes, but these additives should not have an adverse effect on the physical and chemical properties of the materials. 5.4 Except for the residual materials and their regeneration produced by the same production process, recycled old materials should not be used to manufacture rigid plastic intermediate bulk containers.
5.5 Intermediate bulk containers used to transport liquids should be equipped with a pressure relief device, which should be able to discharge sufficient steam to prevent the main body of the intermediate bulk container from rupturing when the internal pressure of the container exceeds its hydraulic test pressure. This can be achieved by using conventional pressure relief devices or other structural means.
5.6 Each intermediate bulk container intended to contain liquids should be subjected to a sealing test when it is used for the first time and when it is put back into use after repair. During the test, the intermediate bulk container does not need to be equipped with its own closure device. 6 Sampling
6.1 Rigid plastic intermediate bulk containers produced with the same raw materials, the same process and the same structure are considered as one inspection batch. 6.2 If any of the raw materials, processes or structures are changed, a new application for inspection is required. If there are only slight differences between the intermediate bulk container and its design type, such as a slight reduction in external dimensions, selective testing may be allowed for this intermediate bulk container. 6.3 See Table 1 for the number of samples. The number of samples may be reduced without affecting the test results. One sample may be subjected to multiple tests at the same time in the order of the test items in Table 2. “If the IBC is designed for this loading and unloading method, at least one of the tests (top lifting or bottom lifting) shall be carried out. Applicable to IBCs designed for stacking. 7.2 Test content
7.2.1 Vibration test
7.2.1.1 Scope of application: All IBCs loaded with liquids, as a design type test. Note: This test is applicable to the design types of IBCs manufactured from January 1, 2011. 7.2.1.2 Sample preparation: The IBC to be tested should be randomly selected, debugged and closed before transportation. Fill the IBC with water to not less than 98% of its maximum capacity. 7.2.1.3 Test method and time: The IBC is placed in the center of the test machine platform, vertically sinusoidal, double amplitude (peak-to-peak value) 25mm (1±5%). If necessary, install a restraint device on the platform to prevent the specimen from moving horizontally and sliding off the platform, but do not restrict up and down movement.
The test should be carried out for one hour, and the frequency used should cause the intermediate bulk container to momentarily detach from the vibration platform during a period of each cycle, so that a metal sheet can be intermittently and completely inserted into the gap between the bottom of the intermediate bulk container and the test platform. After the frequency is set for the first time, adjustments may be required to prevent the container from resonating. However, the test frequency must always ensure that the metal sheet can be inserted under the intermediate bulk container as required by this paragraph. The ability to continuously insert the metal sheet is a basic requirement for passing this test. The metal sheet used in this test should be at least 1.6mm thick, 50mm wide, and long enough to be inserted at least 100mm between the intermediate bulk container and the test platform to complete the test. | |tt||7.2.1.4 Acceptance criteria: No leakage or cracking is visible. b) 31H1 and 31H2 type intermediate bulk containers: the larger of the two values in the following methods: 1) The first method can be determined by the following methods:
1) The total gauge pressure measured in the intermediate bulk container at 55°C (i.e. the vapor pressure of the filling material plus the partial pressure of air or other inert gas, minus 100kPa) multiplied by a safety factor of 1.5, i.e. the total gauge pressure determined by the maximum filling degree at a filling temperature of 15°C required by the International Dangerous Goods Code. 1.75 multiplied by the vapor pressure of the transported material at 50°C minus 100kPa. However, the minimum test pressure should be i
100kPa.
i) 1.5 multiplied by the vapor pressure of the transported material at 55°C minus 100kPa. But the minimum test pressure shall be 100 kPa
The second can be determined by the following method
twice.
But the minimum test pressure shall be 5 times the static pressure of water. Acceptance criteria: No leakage, and the intermediate bulk container does not have any permanent deformation that will endanger transportation safety.
7.2.7 Drop test
7.2.7.1 Scope of application: Applicable to all kinds of intermediate bulk containers for transporting solids. They shall be filled to not less than 95% of their capacity, and those for transporting liquids shall be filled to not less than 980% of their capacity. The test of bulk containers shall be carried out when the temperature of the test sample and its contents drops to -18℃ or lower. The liquid under test shall remain in a liquid state. If necessary, antifreeze shall be added. If this temperature treatment condition can be ignored, the test material shall have sufficient ductility and tensile strength at 18°C or lower. 7.2.7.3 Test method: The intermediate bulk container shall be dropped onto a hard, inelastic, smooth, flat and horizontal surface. The drop shall be made in such a way that the base of the intermediate bulk container, which is considered to be the most vulnerable part, is impacted by the side, top and corner. 7.2.7.4 See Table 3 for the drop height.
