This standard is based on [98] Zhongyou Jijianzi No. 33 "Notice on Issuing the 1998 National Standard Industry Standard Revision Plan for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry", and the Jianghan Petroleum Administration Bureau Survey and Design Institute is responsible for revising SYI47--91 "Design, Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Cathodic Protection Systems for Crude Oil Processing Vessels". This standard is equivalent to NACERP0575-95 "Recommended Practice for Cathodic Protection Systems for Crude Oil Processing Vessels".
This revision solicited opinions from various oilfield design units, higher petroleum colleges and universities, and was finally reviewed and finalized by the Planning and Design Institute of China National Petroleum Corporation.
This standard has the following changes compared to the original standard SYJ47-91: - The name of the standard is changed from "Design, Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Cathodic Protection System Inside Crude Oil Processing Containers" to "Technical Specifications for Cathodic Protection System Inside Crude Oil Processing Containers".
The polarity reversal temperature of the zinc anode driving potential is changed from 65℃ to 54℃. Deleted Sections 2 and 3 of Chapter 6 of SYJ47-91. - Added Article 8.0.6 to Chapter 8. - Deleted Appendix 1 of SYJ47-91. From the date of entry into force, this standard will replace SYJ47-91c. This standard is proposed by China National Petroleum Corporation. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the Planning and Design Institute of China National Petroleum Corporation. This standard is interpreted by the Survey and Design Institute of Jianghan Petroleum Administration Bureau. Drafting unit of this standard: Survey and Design Institute of Jianghan Petroleum Administration Bureau. The main drafters of this standard are Feng Xiaobei, Jia Hengyao, Gaofeng 1.
1.0.1 In order to ensure that the internal cathodic protection system of the container is technologically advanced, economically reasonable, safe and applicable, this standard is specially formulated. 1.0.2 This standard applies to the cathodic protection system of the contact surface between crude oil processing containers, heat exchangers or process containers and water.
1.0.3.In addition to complying with this standard, the design, installation, operation and maintenance of the cathodic protection system inside the container shall also comply with the provisions of the relevant mandatory standards currently in force in the country. 2 Determination of the necessity of cathodic protection
2.1 Overview
2.1.1 Any part of the inner surface of the crude oil processing container in contact with oilfield wastewater may be corroded. The necessity of cathodic protection depends on the severity of existing or potential corrosion and the degree of impact on equipment operation. Cathodic protection measures should be adopted if cathodic protection can achieve one or more of the following effects. These effects are: it can eliminate or minimize unsafe factors, it can economically control equipment failures and losses, and it can eliminate or minimize the loss of stored materials caused by leakage or container rupture.
2.1.2 The inner cover can be used together with cathodic protection to protect the crude oil processing container in order to reduce the protected metal surface area.
2.1.3 Cathodic protection is ineffective for steel surfaces in oil and gas phase environments. Covering layers and (or) corrosion inhibitors can be used to control the corrosion of steel surfaces in oil and gas phases. 2.2 Corrosion Rate
The corrosiveness of a fluid is affected by the following factors: 2.2.1
1Corrosion generally increases with increasing conductivity (solid dissolution) of the water (electrolyte).
2Corrosion in brines produced from oil fields generally increases with increasing acid-forming components (such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide). 3Even trace amounts of dissolved oxygen can increase corrosion. The corrosion rate generally increases with increasing temperature, except in the case of increased permanent scaling.
2.2.3Corrosion rate generally increases with increasing flow velocity or the presence of eddies. 2-
