This standard specifies the calculation formulas for the rated power and correction items and correction factors of open drives in industrial V-belt drives. This standard applies to V-belt cross-sections specified in current national standards and also to cross-sections of V-belts that are under development. 2 Terminology
Rated power: The power that a given V-belt can transmit within a specified time period under the conditions of correct installation and maintenance of the transmission device, according to the specified geometric dimensions and environmental conditions. The rated power is a function of the cross-section of the V-belt, the pitch diameter of the small pulley and the angular velocity of the small pulley. The correction items or correction factors for transmission ratio, wrap angle and belt length are all included in the calculation formula. 3 Calculation formula
