5 Materials
CB*21—83
5.1 The manufacturing materials of A-type marine small chain can be galvanized steel wire of YB452-64 "Brass Wire", YB546-65 "Important Use Low Carbon Steel Wire" or 2Cr13 in GB1220-75 "Technical Conditions for Stainless Acid-Resistant Steel". 5.2 The manufacturing materials of B-type marine small chain can be hot-rolled round steel (GB702-72), A2, A3 (GB70079). 5.3 The manufacturing materials of C-type marine small chain with a chain diameter of 2mm can be stainless acid-resistant steel 2Cr13 (GB1220-75). The manufacturing materials of other specifications of C-type marine small chain can be hot-rolled round steel (GB702-72), A2, A: (GB700-79). After the chain link is manufactured, it should be smooth and clean, and no defects such as deformation, burr, crack, nick, burn, scar, over-burn, incomplete penetration and interlayer 6
are allowed.
When welding the chain link, the welded section should not be twisted. The increase in diameter at the welding point should not exceed 0.1d (d is the nominal diameter of the chain link). 7
8 For arc welding of small chains, heat treatment can be carried out after welding to improve the mechanical properties. 9 Small marine chains should be subjected to tensile tests, and the test load should comply with the provisions of Tables 2 and 3. There should be no twisting during the test of each chain, and the test load should be increased gradually and evenly. When the test load is applied, the chain link should not have permanent deformation, cracks, etc. Unqualified ones can be repaired. If the welding point is broken, it is allowed to be replaced and then tested. The total number of repaired and replaced rings for each chain should not exceed 10%. After replacement, retesting is required, and unqualified retesting is considered scrap.
Small marine chains should generally be painted with anti-rust paint or galvanized after manufacture. 11
Each small marine chain shall be inspected and accepted by the manufacturer's technical inspection department and a certificate of conformity shall be issued. 12
The qualified small marine chain shall be accompanied by the manufacturer, standard model, factory date and inspection mark. Additional remarks:
This standard was proposed by the mooring professional group and is under the jurisdiction of Dalian Shipyard. This standard was drafted by Qiuxin Shipyard. Shen Tonghui is the main drafter of this standard.
Main contents of this revision:
①Type A (chain diameter 1.2~3.2mm) was added. ②Type B and Type C are divided according to the length of the chain link. ③The two specifications of Φ15 and Φ17 in the original CB21-76 were considered to be consistent with the international standards for small marine chains and the consistency of the long chain links of this standard, so Φ16mm was used instead.
