This standard specifies the 15×16 dot matrix font set of graphic characters of the Chinese character communication subset (booklet font) for information processing. It is mainly applicable to dot matrix printing equipment and display equipment in Chinese character information processing systems such as Chinese character telegraph communication, computer communication, office automation, and also to other related equipment.

3 Chinese graphic characters
In a graphic character nest using 91×94, in addition to the Chinese character coding basic set providing 782 foreign language and graphic characters in areas 1 to 10 and 6763 Chinese characters in areas 16 to 87, the Chinese character communication subset provides: 90 to 94 areas, 13 to 14 Chinese character communication subset 612 Chinese characters. The dot matrix font of Chinese graphic characters is determined by a number of points placed in a grid. 4.1 Grid
The grid is formed by the intersection of a number of equidistant vertical and horizontal lines. This standard is a 15×16 dot matrix font standard. There are 15 grids horizontally and 16 grids vertically, and the center of the grid is defined as the center position of the point. The grid only locates the points that constitute the dot matrix font. The grid diagram is shown in Figure 1. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on 1989-03-31 and implemented on January 1, 1990

The point is the component unit of the dot matrix font and is located in the black circular area in the grid. 4.3 Dot Matrix Font
The shape of each Sinology graphic character is specified by its corresponding dot matrix diagram. This dot matrix diagram is the dot matrix font of the graphic character of the word Wen. The 15×16 dot matrix font of Chinese characters is shown in Appendix A (Supplement). 4.4 Area code and position number
The number above each dot matrix font grid indicates the area code and position number of the character in the 94X94 basic set, and the area code and position number are connected by a hyphen. The small characters on the upper left are the printed words of the dot matrix font. The area code of the character "巧" shown in Figure 2 is 90, and the position number is 01. The area code and position number in the second auxiliary set and the fourth auxiliary set are specified in GB8565.2. 4.5 Dot matrix font set
