National Standard of the People's Republic of China Method for the determination of tensile strength of carbonaceous materlals Method for the determination of tensile strength of carbonaceous materlals This standard applies to the determination of tensile strength of carbonaceous materials (maximum particle size composition is less than 4 mm). 1 Principle of the method Tensile strength is the maximum load that a material can withstand per unit cross section when it is subjected to a single tensile force. 2 Instruments and equipment 2.1 Material testing machine: range 0~4900N, accuracy 5N. 2.2 Standard fixture. 2.3 Micrometer: measuring range 0~25,mm, accuracy 0.01mm. 3 Samples 3.1 Sampling shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB1427-88 "Sampling Methods for Carbon Materials". UDC 621. 315. 56 GB 872188 3.2 The high-strength carbon products with a particle size composition of less than 1 mm shall be prepared according to Figure 1, the carbon products with a particle size composition of less than 1 mm shall be prepared according to Figure 2; the carbon products with a particle size of 1 ~ 4 mm shall be prepared according to Figure 3. S Approved by the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry of the People's Republic of China on February 2, 1988 06·64 Implemented on March 1, 1989 4 Test proceduresWww.bzxZ.net GB8721—88 90~0 2°68 302910 4.1 Dry the sample in a drying oven at 110℃ for 2h, take it out and store it in a desiccator, cool it to room temperature for use. 4.2 Use a dry ruler to measure the size of the specimen at the specified two ends and three places in the middle, then turn 90° and measure at the same place. Take the average value of the thinnest of the three places. 4.3 Place the specimen in the corresponding fixture of this standard, first load it into the upper end of the testing machine, let it droop naturally, and then clamp it into the lower end of the testing machine. 4.4 Control the test speed at 1-5mm/min until the specimen breaks, and record the maximum load. Note: The testing machine should be zero-calibrated before each specimen loading. 5 Calculation of test results 5.1 The tensile strength (o) of the specimen is calculated as follows: Ning Where: α-—tensile strength of the specimen, MPa; P-maximum load when the specimen breaks, N; d—average diameter of the thinnest part of the specimen, m. 5.2 The tensile strength (g) of the specimen shall be accurate to 0.01. 290 Test report The test report shall include the following contents: Commissioning unit; Specimen name and number; Single value and average value of test results; Testing unit; Testing personnel; Testing date. Additional remarks: This standard was drafted by Jilin Carbon Factory. The main drafter of this standard is Kang Xiuwei. GB 8721—88 From the date of implementation of this standard, the former Ministry of Metallurgy Standard YB909-78 "Determination of tensile strength of carbon materials" shall be invalidated. 291 Tip: This standard content only shows part of the intercepted content of the complete standard.
