The drafting units of this part are: China National Institute of Standardization, China Automotive Certification Center Co., Ltd. The main drafters of this part are: Chen Yongquan, Dian, Qiang Yi, Zou Chuanyu, Zhang Liang The previous versions of the standards replaced by this part are: GB/T 2893.22008. GB/T2893.2—2020 This part of GB/T2893 specifies the design requirements for product safety labels, which are used to convey safety information related to product installation, operation, use, maintenance and (or) disposal. Product safety labels can alert people to specific dangers and tell them how to avoid them. Product safety labels cannot be used as safety signs for use in workplaces and on the walls of public buildings: Based on GB/T2893.1, this part specifies the design of product safety labels that can be used to convey information: a) The severity of the danger; b) Auxiliary safety information presented in the form of words or symbols. In order to help convey safety information across language and cultural barriers, all product safety labels in this part include safety signs. This part not only covers the design of product safety labels that only use safety signs, but also Product label designs that include the use of auxiliary graphic symbols and auxiliary text, if the graphics cannot convey certain necessary safety information, or if it is believed that the combination of safety signs and text is more effective, or when certain regulations require the use of text to convey safety information, product safety labels that include text can be used. Since product safety labels may not be sufficient to contain all the safety information necessary for safe operation or maintenance of the product, the content of the product safety label can be supplemented in the documentation accompanying the product (such as safety instructions, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, etc.) to provide users with other information necessary to ensure safety. The user documentation of the product can also play a role in communication and education by introducing the meaning of the safety signs and auxiliary safety information symbols shown on the product safety label to users. For guidelines on improving the recognizability of product safety labels, please refer to Appendix A. When designing product safety labels, it is necessary to evaluate the hazards and corresponding risks associated with the product. When deciding whether to issue a warning or whether to issue a warning on the product and (or) in the form of a product safety label, a variety of factors need to be considered. These factors include the severity of the risk, the likelihood of encountering the danger, the degree to which the risk is audible and visible, and the types of people who may encounter the danger. Graphic symbols Safety colors and safety signs Part 2: Design principles for product safety labels GB/T 2893.2—2020 Important note: The colors presented in the electronic files of this part of CB/T2893 cannot be viewed on the screen or used for printing as actual colors. Although the use of colors in this part meets the requirements (within the allowable deviation based on visual inspection), the printed version cannot be used for color matching. For color matching requirements, please refer to GB/T2893.4. This part provides color reference values derived from the color sequence system while giving chromaticity and photometric properties. 1 Scope This part of B/T2893 specifies the design principles for product safety labels, including the use of full colors, the composition of hazard zones, the composition of different types of product safety labels, etc., and provides reference materials such as guiding principles for improving the recognizability of product safety labels and design examples of product safety labels in the appendix. The product safety labels specified in this part apply to all products that may have safety-related problems, but the product safety labels specified in this part do not apply to: Chemicals: Transport of hazardous substances and preparations:; There are relevant regulations that govern some industries whose regulatory content differs from certain provisions of this document. 2 Normative references The following documents are indispensable for the use of this document. Note 3: The examples in the table only give examples of Chinese language. 5 Danger degree area 5.1 General requirements If the severity level of the hazard needs to be indicated, it should be on A hazard zone is added to the combination product safety label or the part of the collection product safety label. As shown in Table 2, the shape of the hazard zone should be rectangular and should include the following elements: a) General warning sign (see Figure A.5); b) Color; c) Warning word (warning word is optional): Composition of hazard zone The hazard zone should include a general warning sign. When a warning sign is used, the warning sign should be located to the right of the general warning sign and displayed on the hazard zone together with the general warning sign. The height of the warning word should not exceed the height of the warning sign graphic. When no warning word is used, the general warning sign is displayed in the center of the hazard zone (see Table 2). The whole display should be in the same line and thick. When the product is exported outside the country, the warning should be in the same country and postal code. Appendix C gives the standard expression of warning words in different languages. 6 Types and composition of product safety labels 6.1 General requirements The product safety label shall contain one or more safety signs, and the product safety label shall be accompanied by one or more auxiliary safety information areas and a hazard level area: the auxiliary safety information area shall consist of text or auxiliary safety information symbols. The product safety label shall conform to one of the following seven types: a) a single safety sign; b) a safety sign with an independent auxiliary safety information text area: a) a safety sign with an independent auxiliary safety information text area and an auxiliary safety information text area including a hazard level area; c) d) a combined product safety label without a hazard level area; e) a combined product safety label with a hazard level area; f) a combined product safety label without a hazard level area; g) a combined product safety label with a hazard level area. Note 1: Appendix 1) gives examples of the above product safety labels. Note 2: Appendix E gives factors to be considered when designing a product safety label. 6.2 Single safety sign GB/T 2893.2—2020 If a product safety label consists of only a single safety sign, the composition of the product safety label shall comply with the shape and color of the safety sign specified in GB/T2893.1 (see Figure 1). It is often necessary to have one or more safety signs on the product to convey the identification of the hazard source and how to avoid the hazard. Therefore, multiple safety signs are usually used together, or presented collectively on a collective product safety label, or presented separately (for example, setting the warning sign next to the instruction sign and/or prohibition sign). The composition and color of warning signs, instruction signs and prohibition signs shall comply with the requirements of (3/T2893.1). a) Warning h) Prohibition ) Instruction Figure 1 Composition of prohibition, warning and instruction safety signs specified in GB/T2893.1 6.3 Safety signs with independent auxiliary safety information text area When the product safety label consists of an independent safety sign and an independent auxiliary safety information area, the additional information in the auxiliary safety information area shall always be in the form of semantic words to supplement or explain the meaning of the safety sign. The auxiliary safety information area should be rectangular in shape. The auxiliary safety information area should be located below or to the side of the safety sign (see Figure 2).
