National Standard of the People's Republic of China Determinatlon of the viscosity This standard applies to the determination of absolute viscosity of resin finishing agents. 1 Definition UDC 678.044.33 GB 5547—85 Viscosity is the internal friction of a fluid, the resistance of a layer of fluid to relative motion with another layer of fluid, expressed in moire. 2 Instruments and EquipmentWww.bzxZ.net 2.1 Rotational viscometer: measurement error is less than ±0.5%. 2.2 Super thermostatic bath: temperature fluctuation range is less than ±0.5℃. 2.3 Thermometer: graduation 0.1℃. 2.4 Container: a container with a diameter of 6 to 7 cm and a height of not less than 11 cm or a container attached to a rotational viscometer. 2.5 Stopwatch: accuracy 0.2 seconds. 3 Determination procedures 3.1 According to the viscosity of the sample, select an appropriate rotor and rotation speed so that the reading is within the range of 20-85% of the dial. 3.2 Immerse the rotor vertically into the center of the sample so that the liquid surface reaches the rotor level mark. 3.3 Keep the sample and rotor in the test container at a constant temperature of 25±0.5℃ and keep the sample temperature uniform. 3.4 Read the indicated value when the rotor rotates for 60±2 seconds. 3.5 Calculate the average value of the results of two parallel tests according to the instrument requirements.
