This standard specifies the determination of free sulfur in rubber by the copper spiral method. This standard applies to vulcanized rubber and unvulcanized rubber, but is not applicable to unvulcanized rubber if the added sulfur is insoluble in acetone, i.e. so-called "insoluble" or amorphous sulfur.
