This standard specifies the type, basic parameters, technical requirements and inspection rules of the green star rocket signal. GB 4542-91
Replaces GB4542-84
This standard applies to the green star rocket signal used by lifeboats or maritime rescue agencies to guide people in distress, distressed boats, and Xiao to land when the ship is in distress and needs rescue. Its performance complies with the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea adopted by the International Maritime Organization. 2 Reference standards
GB3107.1 General technical conditions for pyrotechnic signals for ships3 Product classification
3.1 Type and size
3.1.1 The green star rocket signal for ships is a flame-type pyrotechnic signal that is ignited by a rocket-propelled pull or percussion type. Its main components include: a.

green light signal body;
igniter;
shell and guide tube;

safety cover and top cover.

4 Technical requirements
4.1 The manufacture of the marine Green Star Rocket Signal shall comply with the technical requirements of Chapter 4 of GB3107.1. 4.2 The technical performance of the marine Green Star Rocket shall comply with: a. The rocket launch height shall not be less than 300m;
b. The green light intensity shall not be less than 3000cd;
The green light duration shall not be less than 8s.
4.3 This product shall be able to repeat 10 cycles at an ambient temperature of -30 to +65℃, and then function effectively at this ambient temperature. Approved by the State Bureau of Technical Supervision on May 22, 1991, and implemented on March 1, 1992

4.4 This product should be able to withstand low temperature of -30°C and high temperature of +65°C, and can work effectively at this ambient temperature. 4.5 This product should be able to work effectively at any sea conditions with a high temperature of +65°C and a relative humidity of 90%. 4.6 This product should not be affected in its performance after being immersed in water for 5 minutes at a depth of 10 cm in the ready-to-fire state. 4.7 This product should be able to work effectively after being immersed in water at a depth of 1 m horizontally for 24 hours. 4.8 This product should be able to withstand the salt test of 20% NaCl solution. 4.9 This product is still in a safe state and works effectively after falling freely from a height of 2 m according to the specified test method. After ignition, its initial destructive force should be appropriate and should not harm the operator and any nearby personnel. 4.10 The burning appliance should be connected to the product as a whole. 5 Test methods
The test methods for this product shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 5 of GB3107.1. 6 Inspection rules
6.1 The inspection rules for this product shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 6 of GB3107.1. 6.2 When this product is first produced without a certificate of approval, each batch is 240 pieces. After obtaining a product certificate of approval, each batch is 480 pieces. 6.3 The items, technical requirements and sampling quantity of the product before delivery are as specified in the following table. If there is still one item that fails to meet the standards after the re-inspection, the whole batch shall be scrapped. 6.4 The light intensity test of this product shall be conducted every 5 batches of production and shall meet the requirements of 4.2b. 7 Marking, packaging, transportation and storage
The marking, packaging, transportation and storage of this product shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 7 of GB3107.1. Additional remarks:
