This part is equivalent to ISO12043:1994 "Compression and unpacking test for complete and fully filled transport packages by press":
Compared with ISO12048:1994, the main differences are as follows: Note 3, Note 4, Note 5, Note 6 are changed into formal clauses (7.3.17.3.2.7.3.5, 7.3.6 of this version) and Appendix B is added (for reference only: Standard ISO2234:1585) and placed in Chapter 2. This part replaces GB/T4857.4-1992 "Pressure test method for packaged transport products" and GB/T4857.16-1990 "Stacking test for packaged transport products using a pressure testing machine". The main changes of this part compared with GB/T4857.4-1992 and GB/T1857.161990 are as follows: It merges the test principles of the two standards (GB/T4857.4-1992 and GB/T4857.16-1990), and merges the test principles of the two standards (GB/T4857.4-1992 and GB/T4857.16-1990). 90 edition) and the format has been adjusted accordingly;

1 Scope

Part 4: Compression and stacking test methods using pressure testing machines
This part of GB/T4857 specifies the test principles, equipment performance indicators, test procedures and test report contents for pressure tests on transport packages and stacking tests using the same test equipment. This part is applicable to the assessment of the compressive strength of transport packages when subjected to pressure and the protection of the packaging to the contents. It can be used as a single test or as part of a series of tests. 2 Normative references
The clauses in the following documents become clauses of this part through the reference of this part of GB/T 4857. For all referenced documents with dates, all subsequent amendments (excluding sensitive errors) or revisions are not applicable to this part. However, the parties who reach an agreement based on this part are encouraged to study whether the latest versions of these documents can be used. 3 Test principle
Place the test sample between the pressing plates of the press, and then choose any of the following methods: a) In the case of compression test, pressurize until the test sample is damaged or the predetermined load and displacement values are reached. b) In the case of stacking test, apply the predetermined load until the test sample is damaged or lasts for a predetermined time. 4 Test equipment
4.1 Compression testing machine
4.1.1 The compression testing machine is driven by an electric motor, mechanical transmission or hydraulic transmission, and can apply pressure by moving one or two pressure plates at a relative speed of 10mm/min±3mm/min. Note 1: It is not recommended to compare the results obtained at other speeds such as 12.5mr/mia±2.5mm/min with those obtained at 10mr/min±3mm/min. Note 2: For some packaging items, such as metal drums or boxes, it may be necessary to use a lower speed to prevent the maximum load from exceeding the predetermined recommended value. 4.1.2 The pressing plate shall meet the following requirements:
a) Flatness:
For surface area less than 1m, the height difference between any two points is allowed to have a deviation of 0.1%;
For surface area greater than 1m, when placed horizontally, the horizontal height difference between the lowest point and the highest point on the surface shall not exceed 1mmg

If a multi-directional pressing plate is used, when the testing machine applies 75% of the applied load to the 100mm×100mm×100mm wooden block at the center of the pressing plate, or in the case of a rotating pressing plate, to four identical blocks placed at the corners, the deformation of any point on the pressing plate shall not exceed 1mm, and the wooden block shall have sufficient strength to withstand this load without breaking. One of the pressure plates should be kept horizontal, and the deviation of its horizontal inclination is allowed to be within 0.2% during the whole test. The other pressure plate should be installed firmly, so that the deviation of its horizontal inclination is within 0.2% during the whole test; or a universal joint should be installed at the center of the pressure plate so that it can be freely inclined in any direction. The working surface of the false inclined pressure plate can be partially recessed to fix screws, etc. 4.1.3 Method of applying the predetermined load
Within the predetermined time, the preload has a maximum displacement of ±4%, and there can be no relative movement between the pressure plates. The same load should be maintained during any vertical displacement of the upper pressure plate
4.2 Recording device
The recording device or its chemical measuring device shall not be less than ±2% when measuring the recording load, and the accuracy of measuring the displacement of the recording plate shall be ±1mm.
4.3 Accuracy of test sample dimensions
The accuracy of measuring the test sample dimensions shall reach ±|tt||5 Test sample standards
Put the pre-packed items into the test sample and seal the package according to the normal packaging procedures for shipment. If a simulated content is used, its dimensions and physical properties shall be as close as possible to those of the contents. Similarly, the packaging method is the same as that used for shipment.
6 Temperature and humidity of test samples
According to GB/T4857.3
7 Test procedure
The test samples are subjected to the same temperature and humidity conditions as those for the neck treatment. 7.1 The test should be carried out under the same temperature and humidity conditions as those for the neck treatment, while the temperature and humidity conditions are selected according to the material or purpose of the test sample. If the same conditions cannot be achieved, the test should be carried out under atmospheric conditions as close as possible. If possible, the number of test samples should preferably be 5. 7.2 Compression test
7.2.1 Weigh the package and its contents separately, then fill the package and measure its external dimensions. 7.2.2 Place the test sample in the center of the lower platen of the testing machine described in 4.1 in a predetermined state. When the load is not applied to the entire surface of the test sample, in order to simulate the compression of the test sample during transportation, an appropriate simulation module should be placed between the test sample and the press platen. 7.2.3 Load the test sample group by relative movement of the two pressure plates at an appropriate speed until the predetermined value is reached or the test sample is damaged before the predetermined value is reached. The loading should not exceed the predetermined peak value. If the test sample is damaged first, record the load value reached at this time. When measuring deformation, an initial load shall be set as the reference point. Unless otherwise specified, the reference point shall be recorded as the initial load reference point given in Table 1.

GB/T4857.4—2008/IS012048:1994 Example of the method for measuring the deformation of packaging items - load
A.1 Place the test sample between two pressure plates and apply pressure at a standard speed of 10mm/min±3mm/min. The initial load is approximately 10% of the expected applied load.
