National Standard of the People's Republic of China Location of codes in trade documents Location of codes in trade documents This standard adopts the international standard ISO8440-1986 "Location of codes in trade documents". 1 Subject matter and scope of application This standard specifies the location and area of code identifiers and coded data items in international trade documents. Example 1 640 Bill of Lading or 640 Bill of Lading 3.2 Field Code Field code should be placed before or instead of field title. 3.3 Code Data Item 3.3.1 Horizontal Frame Field In a horizontal frame field, the code data item is located in the right part of the frame and can be on the same line as the descriptive data item; if space is limited, it is placed in the upper right corner of the frame. The code is preceded by a small vertical bar as a separator (see Examples 2 and 3).
