Light Industry Standard of the People's Republic of China Test Method for Heat Fastness of Colored Leather 1 Subject Content and Scope of Application This standard specifies the test principle, instrument, test piece, operation and test report for the heat fastness of colored leather. This standard applies to the determination of heat fastness of colored leather. 2 Reference Standards GB/T251 Grey Sample Scale for Evaluating Staining GB/T4689.2 Air Conditioning of Test Scale for Leather Physical Properties 3 Principlewww.bzxz.net QB/T 1807—1993 After the test scale is air-conditioned, it is contacted with a metal test head at 150℃, 200℃ and 250℃ for 5s respectively. Use the grey sample scale to evaluate its color change and observe the degree of change in the appearance of the coating layer. 4 Apparatus 4.1 Apparatus consisting of components that meet the following requirements: 4.1.1 Test head: a copper circular component with a diameter of (28.5 ± 1.0) mm, the test surface is polished and chrome-plated, and the other surfaces are covered with a layer of thermal insulation material. 4.1.2 Heater: a device that can continuously heat the test head up to 300°C (such as a resistance heater) and is equipped with a heat source switch or a controller to control it. 4.1.3 Equipment that controls the up and down movement of the test head and enables its surface to contact the test piece placed on a horizontal plane with an average distributed pressure of (1.36 ± 0.05) kg. 4.1.4 A hinged support with an insulating surface, on which the surface of the test head can be placed during heating, and the support can also be moved aside to allow the test head to be lowered onto the test piece. 4.1.5 Platform for placing the test piece: circular, with a diameter of not less than 38 mm. In order to make the platform obtain uniform pressure, the fulcrum of the platform is installed in the center position so that the platform can tilt in all directions. 4.1.6 Thermometer: used to measure the temperature of the test head. 4.2 Stopwatch: accuracy is 0.02s. 4.3 Gray card for evaluating staining: in accordance with the provisions of GB/T251, used to evaluate color change. 5 Test piece 5.1 A leather strip of 110mm×35mm can be tested at three temperatures, and there must be enough space between the test areas. 5.2 Before the test, the test piece should be conditioned in standard air at a temperature of (20±2)℃ and a relative humidity of (65±2)% for more than 24 hours according to the provisions of GB/T4689.2. Approved by the Ministry of Light Industry of the People's Republic of China on July 29, 1993 and implemented on March 1, 1994 6 Operation QB/T 1807—1993 The test is preferably carried out in conditioned standard air, otherwise the test piece should be tested upright after air conditioning. Heat the test head placed on the insulating frame and place the test piece on the platform directly below the test head, with the side to be tested facing up. When the temperature reaches about 5°C higher than the required temperature for the test, turn off the electric heater. When the temperature of the test head drops to (150±3)°C, move the insulating support to one side and contact the test head with the test part of the test piece with a pressure of 2.06N/cm2. Start timing at the same time of contact. After 5s, lift the test head and separate it from the test piece. Repeat this test at temperatures of (200±4)°C and (250±5)°C. Each test must be carried out on another new part of the test piece. After the test, condition the test piece in standard air for 4 hours, then compare the tested and untested surfaces. If the appearance of the leather has changed, gently rub the tested surface with a clean soft cloth. If the test piece is suede, brush it with a suede brush. Use the gray sample card specified in GB/T251 to identify the color difference between the tested and untested parts. 7 Test report The test report includes the following: 7. 1 Which side of the test piece was tested. 7.2 The temperature and humidity of the laboratory. 7.3 The temperature of each test. 7.3.1 Observe and compare the obtained grades, and explain the nature of the color change. 7.3.2 Any other effects after heat treatment, such as melting or cracking of the coating or loss of gloss.
