This standard specifies the terms and definitions, test substance information, method overview, test preparation, test, quality control, data and report for estimating the adsorption coefficient of chemicals in soil and sludge by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
This standard is applicable to substances with stable chemical properties during the test, especially to substances that are difficult to test by other methods, such as: volatile substances, substances whose concentration cannot be analyzed and detected due to poor water solubility, chemical substances with strong affinity for adsorption test vessels, and also to mixture systems containing elution bands that cannot be completely separated (the lgKoc of the test mixture should give its upper and lower limits).
The adsorption coefficient (lgKoc) applicable to this standard ranges from 1.5 to 5.0.
This standard does not apply to substances that can react with the stationary phase or mobile phase of high performance liquid chromatography, substances that can react with certain inorganic substances in a special way (e.g., forming complexes with clay mineral bases), surfactants, inorganic substances, medium-strong acids and bases.
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules of GB/T1.1-2009.
This standard has the same technical content as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Chemical Testing Guide No. 121 (2001) "Estimation of Adsorption Coefficients in Soil and Sludge by High Performance Liquid Chromatography" (English version).
This standard has made the following structural and editorial changes:
———Move the examples of applicable chemical substances from the main text to Appendix B;
———Change the measurement units to the legal measurement units of China;
———Change the name of the standard to "Estimation of Adsorption Coefficients in Soil and Sludge by High Performance Liquid Chromatography of Chemicals" to be consistent with the existing standard series.
This standard is proposed and coordinated by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Hazardous Chemicals Management (SAC/TC251).
The drafting units of this standard: Chemical Registration Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Safety Evaluation Center of Shenyang Institute of Chemical Industry, and Shanghai Testing Center.
The main drafters of this standard: Zhou Hong, Liu Chunxin, Zhang Xin, Hou Songmei, Li Ying, Liu Min, Deng Yunyun, and Zhou Linjun.
