Subject content and scope of application This standard specifies the maximum permissible concentration of welding fume in the air of the workplace and its monitoring and inspection methods. This standard applies to all types of enterprises that carry out welding operations. 2 Reference standards GB5748 Determination of dust in workplace air 3 Hygienic requirements The maximum permissible concentration of welding fume in the air of the workplace is 6mg/m3. GB16194-1996 Other harmful substances generated during welding shall still be implemented in accordance with the current health standards for these poisons. 4 Monitoring and inspection methods The determination of welding fume concentration and free silicon dioxide content in the air of the workplace shall be implemented in accordance with GB5748. 5 Supervision and implementation Health administrative departments at all levels are responsible for supervising the implementation of this standard.
