GB/T14831—2003 This standard is revised on the basis of GB/T14831—1993. The main differences between this standard and the original standard are: 1. Added a reference standard GB/T57231993 "Determination of the size of test specimens and products for testing vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber". 2. Modified 3.1 test instrument to "high-pressure steam sterilizer (tank)", considering that it is inconvenient to use a large sterilization tank for boiling a small number of samples, and a small portable high-pressure steam sterilizer can also be used for easy operation. 3. Modified the technical requirements of 3.3 thickness gauge to meet the requirements of GB/T5723—1993. 4. Made editorial changes to 5.1, 5.2, and 5.4. 5 Added 5.6 "Generally, it is recommended to use the test conditions of steam pressure 0.10+.01MPa, cooking time 30min, and time interval between two cookings of 30min for testing." 6 Modified 6.3 into 6.4 and 6.5, and then according to 6.6 "Repeat the steps of 6.4 and 6.5." to make it more reasonable and logical. Added 6.8 to measure the tensile properties of the sample after cooking and aging. 7 8 Modified the "percentage change rate of performance" in the test results of 8 to "percentage change rate of performance". This standard replaces the original standard GB/T14831--1993 from the date of publication. This standard was proposed by the former State Administration of Petroleum and Chemical Industry. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the Latex Products Sub-Technical Committee of the National Rubber Standardization Technical Committee. The drafting unit of this standard: Zhuzhou Rubber and Plastics Industry Research and Design Institute of China Rubber Group. The main drafters of this standard: Zheng Sanyang and Liu Dan. The first publication date of this standard is 1993. This standard applies to latex products made of natural rubber latex. 2 Referenced standards GB/T 14831--2003 Replaces GB/T14831—1993 The provisions contained in the following standards constitute the provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. When this standard is published, the versions shown are valid. All standards will be revised, and parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest versions of the following standards. GB/T528—1998 Determination of tensile stress-strain properties of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber (eqvISO37:1994) GB/T2941--1991 Standard temperature, humidity and time for environmental conditioning and testing of rubber specimens (eqvISO471:1983) GB/T5723—1993 Determination of dimensions of specimens and products for testing vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber (eqvISO4648:1991) 3 Testing instruments 3.1 High-pressure steam sterilizer (tank) Main technical parameters: Pressure range (0~0.14)MPa, allowable error is not more than 1%. 3.2 Tensile testing machine The tensile testing machine should meet the requirements of GB/T528. 3.3 Thickness gauge Use a percentage thickness gauge that meets the requirements of GB/T5723, with a measuring pressure of (22±5) kPa and a graduation of 0.01mm. 4 Sample The sample is cut directly from the finished product. The preparation and requirements of the sample shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T528 and GB/T2941. 5 Test conditions 5.1 Saturated steam pressure (gauge pressure) can be selected: 0.10+.01MPa, 0.12+9.01MPa. 5.2 The duration of each steaming can be selected: 20min, 30min, 40min. 5.3 The time interval between two steamings is 30min. 5.4 The number of steamings can be selected: 6 times, 7 times, 8 times, 9 times, 10 times. 5.5 The temperature and humidity of the tensile test shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T2941. 5.6 In general, it is recommended to use the test conditions of steam pressure 0.10+001MPa, cooking time 30min, and time interval between two cookings of 30min for the test. Approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China on March 5, 2003 Implementation on August 1, 2003 6 Test procedures GB/T 14831--2003 6.1 The specimens for the tensile test before and after cooking aging must be cut from the same sample. 6.2 Number the specimens, measure and record the thickness of the specimens. 6.3 Use double layers of clean gauze to isolate the specimens in layers. The specimens in each layer should be placed flat and should not overlap each other. 6.4 Place the specimens in the high-pressure steam sterilizer (tank), adjust the steam pressure control device to quickly rise to the selected test pressure within 10 minutes, and start timing. 6.5 After reaching the specified cooking time under the selected test pressure, close the steam pressure control device, open the exhaust valve, and after the steam is exhausted, take out the sample and place it at room temperature for the specified time. 6.6 Repeat steps 6.4 and 6.5 to carry out the second cooking test, the third cooking test, and so on until the selected number of tests is reached. 6.7 The sample should be conditioned at the standard temperature for at least 16 hours, but not more than 96 hours, as specified in GB/T2941. 6.8 Determine the tensile properties of the sample after cooking aging. 7 Expression of test results Expressed by tensile properties after steam aging or percentage change of tensile properties. The tensile property values can be: tensile load (N), tensile strength (MPa) or tensile elongation (%). The calculation formula for the percentage change of tensile properties is: S=Where: S—-percentage change of tensile properties, %; A—tensile property value before steam aging; B—tensile property value after steam aging. 8 Test report The test report should include the following contents: a) Sample name; b) Standard name or standard number of the test basis; c) Sample number; d) Number of samples; e) Test conditions; f) Test results; g) Tester; h) Test date.
